Gorgeously Photographed, Haunting Songs, and Beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow ,

Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Paltrow) has huge problems in this 2011 movie, which discovered that Paltrow can really sing. When the movie opens, country star and 6 time Grammy Winner Kelly Canter is in rehab. Five months pregnant, she fell off the stage in a Dallas concert and miscarried. Now she is addicted to alcohol and pills and is really depressed.

But husband and manager James Canter (Tim McGraw) has bigger ideas of her grand return to the stage. We are all for him until we see that her rehab attendant, Beau Hutton (Garrett Hedlund)is right. It is just too soon. And the Canter couple's marriage is in not too good shape either.

But the show must go on, and Beau and a wannabe country star Chiles Stanton (Leighton Meester) become the opening act for a three city tour of Texas: Houston, Austin, and finally Dallas, where the BIG accident occured that threw Kelly into rehab.

What follows is a rectangle love affair with A Star is Born theme. The rising star, however, isn't Kelly, but the two younger actors in this movie, which make it work. Instead, beautiful Gwyneth Paltrow plays the James Mason role.

We are treated to enough country music to make a CD along the way, including my favorite, Give In To Me. Other songs are Words I Couldn't Say, Chances Are, Little Bit Stronger, and Paltrow's title song, Country Strong.

This movie is A Star is Born all over again. But the ending is different. You will have to watch to see what I mean.Read full review...

A MUST SEE MOVIE

A MUST SEE MOVIE.. AUSOME Gwyneth paltrow played such a great part in this movie.. its quite touching... its about a country singer who loses her baby at 5 months on stage she had a blood alcohaul content of .05.. she ends up in treatment and her husband tim McGraw takes her out early... she tries to go on tour but people keep ridiculing her and she ends up drinking vodka again and doesn't sing at her concerts. all she wanted to do with her husband is talk about the baby they lost.. he never gave her much attention.. she was pretty sad threw the hole movie..so finally the state she lost her baby in she did a concert there and it was so good the songs on this soundtack will blow you away.. and so finally after all the hurt and heartache she takes her life after the concert..Read full review...

Country Strong

First of all the music in Country Strong is a very good movie. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised by Gwyneth, Leighton and most of all Garretts singing abilities. Garrett has deep and sexy voice. This movie will make you laugh and cry. There is a lot of emotion put into this movie. Tim is fabulous, his acting gets better with every movie he makes. Leighton is wonderful as the sweet and unsure "beauty queen" that has more to her than what we see on the surface. I believe Tim, Garrett, Leighton and Gwyneth all have equal parts in carrying this movie. If you are a country music fan you will love the music and really like the movie..Read full review...

Great movie! Great music! Beautiful actors and a touching story ....

I've always liked watching Gweneth Paltrow but after this movie I can say that now I absolutely LOVE watching her! She did an amazing job with a very touching role and though I am not a huge Country Western fan, I did become one after watching this movie. I truly enjoyed their singing performances.

All the main characters were fun to watch but Garrett Hedlund just became a favorite of mine with his gorgeous looks and beautiful voice .... hahaha ... what a hunk! :o)

This is a good movie!

I missed this movie when it was in our hometown theater, and boy, that was a mistake! My whole family, right down to our son, who loves rock music like we do, loved the music and the story. We watched it whenever it came on satellite in the month that it was featured.
From what I hear it wasn't well received by movie-goers or critics, which I can't really understand. The only thing I didn't like was the ending; but, not everything in life is what we need or want.
'Country Strong' takes you through every emotion while you find yourself being immersed in the decent music. Give it a spin!Read full review...

Amazing Movie! Favorite of all times!

I absolutely LOVE this movie!!!! I watched it 4 times in a week! I bought the CD because the songs are so great! I don't even normally listen to country music but every single song is wonderful! Gwyneth Paltrow is amazing! My favorite song is Leighton Meesters "Words I Couldn't Say". It makes me think of an ex and what I should have said! Both these women are wonderful in acting and singing! But all the actors in this movie are great. I don't think it would have been as good without these 4! I hope to hear more!Read full review...

Great Movie if you really like Country Music, and have seen the Lorette Lynn, Cold Miner Daughter Movie. I've seen it a few times on Cable TV. And wanted a copy of my own.
