5 piece Mess Kit

This is the same mess kit I had as a boy scout. This kit is still in use by campers, boy scouts and militia groups nationwide. It's the perfect size. It's compact when stored. The kit includes the plate, fry pan, stew pot, and drink cup. You break it out for meals and store it away when finished. It's easy to clean. It's made of durable lightweight aluminum. This is a great mess kit for any occasion. Great for back-packers, campers, vacationers, and militia groups.Read full review...

Too cheap to survive camping

Disappointed. Barely thicker than a soda can. Very weak and flimsy. Looked great in the pictures. Fooled me. Better to go buy at Walmart so you can see what you're getting. I'll probably just throw this away and consider it a lesson learned. No way would I take this stuff camping.

Coleman Mess kit

A decent little mess kit small enough to carry easy. it will bend easy so dont press hard on it . for weekend campers should be ok . for more pro camping may want a stronger or thicker metal one. but works fine for my grandsons camping trips with hes church group. recommend . low price also.Read full review...

Terrific for Backpacking

The mess kit is very light weight yet quite rugged. I used it on a recent backpacking trip in the Sierras. Light weight is a key in backpacking and this mess kit met the bill quite well.

good for light use

I bought it for my grandkids who are in scouts. They are medium weight aluminum but should serve them nice. I had the same set 70 years ago and it was a little heavier material

very light, very thin

bought this mess kit with the intention of carrying it on a motorcycle, works great, very light and functional. a little on the thin side when it comed to the pan . i had to dent the dish plate in two places to get the unit to close better but all in all a good valueRead full review...

Good for occasional use only

This would be good for the camera who go out for a weekend a few times a year. It is too flimsy for hard long term use as I bent it all up simply pulling it out of the packaging. I can only imagine how damaged it would be after a long term rendition.Read full review...

A NICE KIT WHEN YO HAVE NO OTHER

I keep this in my trucks toolbox. It's way better than having no means to cook with. Aluminium is thin and almost seems like a throw away item, but has proven itself to work. I only used mine on a Coleman stove. Don't scorch it on a campfire and expect it to last a lifetime. For the price, I give it 5 stars.Read full review...

Boy Scout Camping

Bought for a 13 year old Boy Scout for camping. It is compact with all the necessary components for camping. The price was good enough if it gets lost, it can be replaced within reason.

Just ok

These are thinner than I remember from years ago. Biggest gripe are the sharp edges. Almost every exposed edge is sharp enough to cut skin. The sharp edge on the large handle makes it difficult to put everything back together. I purchased four and they are all the same. They will work for the intended purpose but I wish i would have spent more for something in stainless steel.Read full review...
