Absolutely in Love with this Game

This game is honestly one of the best games I've played in a long time. This game appeared in my local video game store and I didn't purchase it. Since that a few months passed, I youtubed the game and became obsessed. This game reminds me of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life meets Chibi Robo meets maybe the quirky-ness of Beautiful Katamari. The concept of the game is so fresh and addicting. You dream about your dream girl, try to kiss her irl, and spend the whole game collecting kisses from villagers and underground residents across three different towns. I won't lie I needed to use a walkthrough for a lot of this game but it doesn't take away from the gameplay for me. The difficulty level is perfect as well some challenges easy and others difficult. My only true negative for this game is that clicking through dialog proves to no avail and it takes quite a bit to get through certain scenes and conversations but other than that I got nothing. The game has such funny odd quirky characters and winning their affection is insanely addictive. When I finally had time to sit down with this game I went 10 hours straight which for someone who is 25 and works two 20 hour jobs is great. Chulip The long drawn out kissing game!

I bought this game because it was very unique, and it sounded cute. When I got it, I realized that they actually speak japanese in the game w/ english subtitling. It really has a lame purpose, but then again, most japanese games do-LOL. The purpose is to make people happy and kiss them so that you can gain rep and eventually kiss your "dream girl". This game is kind of difficult to follow, so a walk through is definately needed. Ohh, and the crude japanese humor, I wouldn't let a very young kid play this.Read full review...

If you're reading this and the seller still has more new copies I recommend getting one yourself.
It's a tad pricey but good luck finding a physical copy anywhere else cheaper, I do have to mention it's on PSN though.Read full review...

A quirky but challenging game.

Chulip is a pretty interesting game and I'm glad i got my hands on it. It is pretty hard without looking at the manual or a walkthrough though. Other than that I'm glad i finally got the game.

Very weird and yet very unique PS2 game!

Ever since I heard about this game so many years ago, 5 years to be exact, I had been watching and waiting for the game to be released in the US until one month ago. It was worth the wait! Honestly, I've never played a PS2 game something very weird and yet very challenging like this! The game features very unique characters that I've never have seen before! On the side note that this game features part of Japanese culture(if not all) and even the character's spoken language and everything else is in Japanese.(duh!) I can see now that why this game was so popular in Japan when it was released many years ago! Anyway, if you wanna know and experience what Japanese culture is like, this game is for you! Sadly, no game is perfect and this one is no exception. Here are my own opinions from my own experience:

The good:

1)The game features very unique characters that I've never seen before until now. A very good example of what Japanese culture is like.

2)Very weird and yet very challenging gameplay most of the time.

3)The unique goal of this game: Kiss almost everyone you meet in the game!

The bad:

1)The gameplay could be very hard to most people who have no idea what in the world(!?) is going on in the game.

2)Some of the scenes in the game could offend some people including myself! I really don't wanna talk about it so you must play this game to see for yourselves. Trust me on this. Really!

3)The instruction manual of the game features a mini guide for this game but it is NOT 100% accurate! I wonder whether they are typo or intentional(!?) errors.Read full review...

Difficult but so much fun.

A very fun, quirky (VERY) Japanese game, but not for those who want simple easy-to-solve puzzles. Chulip is difficult and punishes the player at every turn for mistakes.
