Edelbrock 1490 is supposed to allow repositioning of the throttle cable on Ford 289/302 using one of their Performer carbs with E1483 linkage. Apparently the existing throttle cable bracket must be bolted to E 1490 which in turn is bolted to the intake manifold. It did not work with my new Performer carb bolted to a standard aluminum dual plane intake as the stock throttle cable had a severe bend due to the repositioned bracket. My options were to rework the throttle cable to make it shorter or make my own intake platform plate that the old throttle bracket would bolt to. I chose the latter and it worked great as it moved the old bracket to a position that allowed throttle cable alignment with the Performer 1483 linkage.
