A Great Product!
Bose has taken a lot of flack in recent years for many of the same reasons Apple has. Many professionals argue that Bose and Apple products are too simple and are overpriced based on performance of products in similar price ranges. What Bose (and Apple) offer isn't the best spec sheet or best value, they offer a well built product that is very durable and simple to use. It just works! It has a simple volume knob that doubles as an on off switch. Setup is simple too! The speakers have a balanced sound that is good for lots of music. They are also heavy and feel very durable.
Sure, similar speakers may have some features that are better than these Bose speakers, but overall, these speakers are rugged, easy to use, handsome, and sound good. It's a simple solution for people who like decent sound with no hassles. Read full review...

This is one of the worlds best speakers, actually they are the worlds best speaker makers. Great Deal on a Great Used Pair of Bose Companion 2 Speakers

I purchased these same speakers a few years ago and sold them because I replaced them with the Bose computer speakers with subwoofer which has a richer sound. I wanted a pair of Bose speakers for my desktop and I am pleased with my purchase. I matched this pair up with a subwoofer (because I have music that demands serious bass capacities). The Companion 2’s do very well in the high range and well in most midrange, which is great for rock and most Jazz, but if you need the “Monster Bass”, I suggest a subwoofer accompaniment. Overall I am pleased with my purchase.
Not being an audiophile, these speakers serve their purpose and sound fine to my untrained ear.
They didn't take up as much space as my old ones and I was able to get rid of the cumbersome subwoofer which was why I bought them in the first place.
One thing they're lacking is a small LED on the front to indicate when they're on. There's a small dot on the front of the volume/on-off knob which I filled in with a red magic marker to make it easier to see when the switch is in the off position because I don't like to leave the power on when I'm not using them.
The headphone jack on the front of the right speaker under the control knob is a nice touch and works well.Read full review...
Very "Hi-Fidelity" for a compact speaker.
Throughout the years I have had many computer speakers. These Bose speakers are the most realistic and sound fantastic. I do have audiophile quality speakers that I listen to often with vinyl and CD so I am familiar with "excellent" sounds. Best value used speakers
Simply put, these are a bargain used if you're after sub $50 speakers for your PC.
I heard things in songs that I didn't hear on my previous speakers, speech is also very clear.
They can sit upright behind your monitor(s), can probably lay flat too though i've not tried this.
