BlackBerry Storm2 9550: Simple, not high end but good cell for your parents

Why Smart Phone:
This is all personal preferences. Smart phones are the best choice now a days. You can get all kind of apps to take benefit of smart phone. Pay your bills, check your bank balance, free voice calls, Emails, text messages, pictures, videos are just few example. You don't have to turn on computer, sit and wait, you can do all in few clicks.

Smart Phones Platform:
I use iPhone, I use Android phones. Both are user friendly and navigation is super easy. Android phones are more fancy, more free stuff and intuitive. Apple is more about prestige and you pay for everything.

Blackberry:
Blackberry is old school. They are poineer in market, corporate world offices, friends have simple text free services, chat work / friends group you can create. But these things are common and available on any platform now a days. What I like about them, if I have to gift cell phone, I will go for blackberry, very reasonable price. And they all have good features.

Example: Automobile. Any car will take you point A to point B. Whether Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, Mazda. They all does the same job. This is all about personal preference. Some people prefer to drive high end Mercedes some people prefer Suzuki, this is all about budget too.

Do I like BB Storm 9550? Simple answer is yes, I do. It does the same job.

I use iPhone 6 plus and Samsung Note 4 and Glaxy S5. Among them I prefer iPhone only. But this is personal choice you made. All phones does the same job.

Thanks.

Do not buy the BlackBerry Storm2

About BlackBerry Storm2 9550: I've bought the Storm2 as a temptative of escaping from the known Iphone fashion and its high price.
The Storm2 physical characteristics are:
- Very beautiful;
- Heavy;
- Deep.

I'm still getting used to the touch screen as it is a little different, I mean it works like a big button as we need to click on it harder than in a sensible touch screen, so that when typing on the keyboard it can delays a little bit more than expected.

I was negatively surprised that I can't receive my contacts through the Bluetooth technology as it is not allowed.

Still talking about the Bluetooth I was scared that even after I have paired my phone with another device, when the one sent a picture through Bluetooth I needed to come till the Black and select the option to receive the midia file... I mean: Really bureaucratic!!!

But nothing more ridiculous(at least downhere in Brazil) than
being forced to pay monthly fees for the technology available in the device, like: Blackberry Messenger, App World and so on... I mean, if I pay for a 3G plan why to pay additionaly for the technology... When I bought it I did payed for the technology... Why monthly fees now?!

I am sorry guys!

My advice: Go to Android or Iphone!!!

The best wishes,
Ricardo

Very stylish and very nice touch-screen phone.

The Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) is a much needed upgrade from its previous form. It gives a new type of style to touch-screen, some people need some getting used to but will enjoy it. I was a bit skeptical at the beginning, especially since it took me much longer than usual to text a simple message. After a few minutes of practice, it became such a breeze.

Pros:

- Battery life is very reliable, went for 3 days without charging and was still left with at least 25%.
- Touch-screen is a new feel, but very comfortable once given the chance.
- Camera quality is not exactly on par with that of the iPhone, but it was decent enough for everyday photo taking.
- The phone size itself does feel compelling at first, but it is meant for the business world like all Blackberries.

Cons:
- If your not running the new OS 6, then to me the applications smoothness is still okay, but could be better.
- Restarting the phone takes a very long time, I do not know if the new OS is any better with that but I think it would not change much.

Quirky but cute - and fun to use

As a Senior I purchased this item for three reasons -
1. To try to keep up with technology and learn about 'smartphones'.
2. To complement my recent purchase of a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. r>3. To be able to interact with my tablet and provide seamless connectivity when traveling.
There are many more features on this item than I will ever use and I am now reasonably OK with the phone and sms functions.
I have yet to arrange a suitable ISP plan to cover Internet usage so I can connect to all the other functions available.
I find operating this phone to be a little quirky but interesting and fun. It seems to do everything required of it but not always the way I would expect.
I must say that, at this stage, I am very happy with it and am looking forward to being able to use it for the purpose it was purchased.
I am very happy with the clarity and sharpness of the graphics.
The type characters are not always easy to select but greater accuracy seems to be a matter of experience - as is the intuitive word selection.
I believe it to be a very capable instrument.Read full review...

Perfect Black Berry Storm 2

I love how the phone is sleek and their design is powerful and sticks right compared to other black berry phones.

I don't like how it sometimes freezes during a specific operation or loading up certain menu screens etc etc.. but a quick Memory clean works like a charm.

This phone works perfectly for me but i wish that rogers were to modify their network to support 3G for black berry Storm.. I am guessing time is soon to tell whether they do it or not.

I decided to buy this device because i wanted a new phone and something unique that would catch peoples eyes. This phone does wonders for me and it does what i ask it to do.. Hence.. Voice dialing =P ha ha.

Overall, the phone is amazing and I would recommend anyone with a passion for blackberries to get a hold of this, but wait for a while until the major networks configure their networks to support more flexibility to the newer devices.

Thanks

BlackBerry Storm2 9550 (Unlocked)

The Blackberry Storm 2 comes in a sleek bar form with a well sized display! Perfect for the business professional, or for the Blackberry Fanatic. I recently purchased a Blackberry Storm 2 so that I could multi-task and to upgrade to a more reliable cell phone format that I knew! Unfortunately the hope of 3G access was dashed because I was an ATT customer and was restricted to EDGE access! I would say the phone would function amazingly if I were to be a Verizon customer! If you are looking for an iPhone alternative as a previous iPhone owner I would tell you to check out the Blackberry Storm 2 based alone on the touch screen being in such close competition you wouldn't be disappointed.

Blackberry Storm2- Worth buying?

I upgraded my Blackberry Storm to Storm2. Best thing I like about Storm2 is that the O/S 5.0 does not freeze like Storm, which I had to frequently, take out the case, battery and reboot. Storm2 Touch screen is over sensitive. It has WiFI, but that is of not much use to me. It has more flash memory than Storm, but I could not feel any difference in performance. The Browser has only Bing (Windows Live) as search engine. If you like Google, you need to install Google Mobile App. I do miss the chrome finish of Storm, its chrome convenience left and right keys and robust main menu keys on front-bottom side. The original Storm looks elegant. In short, if you are happy with Storm, than there is no need to upgrade to Storm2, unless you badly need WiFi.Read full review...

CrapBerry

No point in using the internet on this device it's super slow and waste of money.. Blackberry could learn a few things from Samsung and Apple and LG the top 3 on the market..Read full review...
