Best Of is what it is

It was good to hear these songs again, since I haven't played my LP record version since it came out, and the cassette tape I had of The Powerstation broke years ago. The quality is excellent, EMI always does a good digital release from their catalogue. This release subtitle "10" is probably not for a generic '80's fan looking for a "Greatest Hits" compilation of The Powerstation. This is a real "Best Of", as they only had two big hits, "Bang A Gong" and "Some Like It Hot", and what HUGE hits those two were. "Communication" was a Top 40 hit, but not top 10. Plus the last cut is a "Live Performance" (The Powerstation was known as a studio-only group of two Duran Duran members, Robert Palmer, and a drummer from Chic that recorded all their tracks separately at different times in different cities), it doesn't sound like Robert Palmer singing lead on the live cut.
So for someone looking for a "Greatest Hits" package, this is not it. For someone looking for "The Best" recordings by The Powerstation and you are a true fan of the group or the individual members, this is a must.

Some like it hot

I remember this band's music when I was cruising downtown Marion Indiana as a teenager.
It still sounds fresh today. I have really been enjoying it and recomend it to anyone who still likes to listen to great 80's music and liked the bands Durna Duran or Arcadia. Robert Palmer's vocals are strong and the beats are great. Pop this CD in and remember the good times.Read full review...

Carson's The Best of the Power Station Review

If you are a fan of Robert Palmer (R.I.P.), Duran Duran (Andy & John Taylor), or Chic (Bernard Edwards R.I.P.), then this album is for you. Even if you are not, this is still a very good compilation that includes on elive track not found on any other albums. Out of respect I rate this album a perfect 10. But, then again, this MY personal opinion. I am grateful to own this album now. I hope this review is helpful. Peace.Read full review...

the titleis an exact description of what's on the disk.

maybe it's because i'm brittish, but i've always been a fan of robert palmer's music, and this cd ranks right up there with his riptide cd. if i didn't get this cd on ebay, i'd have bought it in a music store. i'm a bassist myself, and i found whichever group robert palmer is jamming with, the bass part is really cool. looking to buy some of his other cd's, as i said before, either in a store, or here on ebay.Read full review...
