Well worth the price if you're willing to dial it in to your rig. Rugged little unit.
Pros: Inexpensive, built tough, easy to dial in.
Cons: Very sensitive volume & tone controls, controls at 12:00 are not unity and very overdriven.
Review: With a name like "Pure Boost" I expected a linear boost that would not create any overdrive but this will overdrive quite a bit if pushed much. To start dialing in clean boost vs. overdrive start with the Bass & Tone (treble) controls straight up at the 12:00 position. Turn the gain all the way down and the Volume at about the 2:00 position. This is about as close to unity volume and tone with little to no coloration, overdrive or volume boost. Bring the Volume control up to your desired amount of 'pure boost' for a non-overdrive volume boost.
Bringing the gain up anywhere from the lowest setting will introduce distortion which can be a good sounding push into a tube amp for a little more grind and a volume bump for solos or raunchy intros/interludes.
A neat feature is the large gain knob being clear with the status LED directly under it. When you kick the boost on, the whole knob lights up so there's no guessing if it's engaged on a dark stage, or even in full sunlight.
Overall I give this about 4-1/2 stars for a very stout rugged enclosure, very positive feeling switch and controls and usability. I only take 1/2 star off because if you're selling something called "Pure Boost" I don't expect overdrive to come directly from the unit itself.
I use this in both my electric and acoustic rigs that I gig with. Keep the gain down to nothing and dial in the others for a solo boost on acoustic if you want a clean boost without accentuating the piezo 'quack' most acoustics have when pushed hard (especially direct into a PA). Well worth the price if you're willing to play with the controls out of the box.
Bonus: It comes with a piece of Velcro pre-cut for the bottom AND a 9V battery pigtail so you can try/run it without plugging in a power supply. Nice!Read full review...

Sweet overdrive pedal
This is a drive pedal, not a clean boost. I think it sounds better than tube screamer. It is very organic sounding. It doesn't have that much gain but souds good when you push it with a boost.
