Ipod replacement

Had an old first gen ipod that wouldn't 'update' and finally wouldn't connect w/iTunes leaving it useless. Typical Apple 'exclusivity': throw it away and replace...at great cost! This 'replacement' was only one gen newer, but WOULD connect with iTunes, making it usable. It even had features not available on gen 1: camera, speaker, and some other stuff I don't use/didn't need. It arrived quickly, was in great shape...much better condition than the photo (which must be a file image used on many, many offerings). Price was much better than the several hundred for something 'new'. Don't look too long. It just confuses. Go for one of these.....Read full review...

Good deal and works well - holds all my podcasts so I'm happy

I bought this iPod after my last one gave up on me. I tend to use them rather heavily - on a daily basis in fact and usually for many hours.

This 4th Gen Nano has been holding up pretty well. The battery isn't the best but I got this one refurbished and wasn't expecting it to be. I didn't like the habit of shuffling when dropped/shaken but then found out how to turn that option off, so alls well there.

Overall, I'm just hoping it holds up and plays my podcasts for a few years (the Nano I had before my last iPod lived for six.)

In great shape except for battery

Physically this ipod is in great shape, clean clear screen with just a small sign of use on the back. Bluetooth syncs quickly with my speakers. The only downside is the battery only lasts for a few hours of play.Read full review...

4.5 stars I recommend this for free web browsing wifi, two cameras

i really like the size and flatness. really awesome for skype and facetime. high quality webcam/cam. can download free apps. really fast wifi browsing :)

just didnt like how we had to set up a credit card account for just accessing the apps though. and pointing this out. its really hard to edit words once youve typed it in. the sound quality isnt as impressive as iphones

overall not bad id recommend it, just disappointed in speaker quality and downloading apps takes foreverrr, the batterly life is really poor too. and the price is too high.

Great value, sharp look, easy to use!

I purchased the Apple iPod and immediately downloaded the songs into it after charging it. My old iPod stopped working after many years of use, so purchasing another was at the top of my list. I liked the chromatic black because it is two-toned ... looks nice and masculine! It works the same as my older iPod with better features. It is small so I can carry it in a case and use with my earphones or a special speaker unit. I value Apple products and would recommend highly this iPod to everyone! I also like that they have a 1 year warranty.Read full review...

Tiny Package -- Jumbo Sound!!

Pros: Incredibly small and light
Heavy duty capacity
Wide range of color options (I chose black -- it's a beautiful charcoal)
Easy to use
Long battery life
Quick charge
Very comfortable ear buds (be sure to check which one goes in which ear)

Cons: Lots of extra features most people aren't likely to use
Once something is on it, there's no getting it off short of deleting it from your iTunes library

I bought the 4th Gen iPod nano after I accidentally washed and dried my 3rd Gen. Oops! Replacing the battery was almost as expensive as buying new, and then I read the fine print. Apple won't replace a battery that has been damaged by water or other liquids. So, for my money, the 4th Gen seemed like the logical choice.

My 3rd Gen ended up in the wash because I sometimes put it in my pocket while working around the house and listening to tunes. Forgot to check the pockets!

I'm utterly amazed at this nano's capacity and battery life; also the quick charge time. It's just as easy to operate as the 3rd Gen and it's so much smaller and lighter! With the curvature all around the edges, it seems even smaller than its 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1/4" actual size. Yes, you read that right! At its thickest, this tiny powerhouse is only 1/4" thick.

I bought the 8G, and since I use mine for music and podcasts, I doubt I'll ever come close to using all my capacity. If I do, there's always music I've put on it in the past that I don't listen to very often anymore. I'm not certain how to remove "stuff" from my nano without deleting it from my iTunes library, and if I can't, that may be a drawback. [Well, I just dug through the on-line manual and, guess what? The ONLY way to delete something from my iPod is to delete it from my iTunes library. Oops!]

My husband is not a great fan of technology -- at least not of getting it up and running, but after using my nano to practice dance steps (we're taking dance lessons), he mentioned that he might like one of his own. Well,he got it as an early Father's Day present. Of course, it was all set up before I gave it to him.

Now, about killing my Gen 3, I love to bead, so I've made a beaded pocket and lanyard so I will never again put my nano in my pocket. And I've made the pocket wide enough that I can tuck the ear buds in next to my nano when I'm not listening. When I'm active, I can tuck the whole package inside my shirt. I bought my husband an armband holder -- a good investment for active nano users.
Anyone with access to a sewing machine and basic sewing skills could easily whip up a pocket for their nano. I guarantee it will take less time than beading the pocket and lanyard. But then again, no one else will ever have a carrier for their nano like mine.

Bottom line? Buy it! You'll love it!!!

Good product needs to be protected from LIFE.

I really did like my iPod when I first got it. When I first got it , it instantly got scratches all over the back. I barley even did anything with it. I hated that I needed a computer to get it started (thank god they fixed that). The camera is OK the front camera has terrible quality it is very "pixely". The back camera is better but not great. Apps are fun depending on who you are but some CRASH a lot. After a while, it will start to lag and only way to solve it is if you restore the entire system. Facetime was a good idea but it sucks I can barley see anyone because it breaks up. If you make a new iTunes account it won't attach to the new one it's pretty much stuck on the old one and there's no SIGN OUT BUTTON. The battery is ok if you just listen to music ...forever. Do anything else it will die in one or two days. Just music: eh , maybe 5 days :). I wish the iPod was more indestructible when it came to things in life. I took the case off for one day... I dropped it maybe from my ankle and the screen cracked over dramatically! I was shocked when I picked it up! Another thing is that I wish map app would be available offline. I would still recommend it but beware - you have to baby this thing :). Oh and the button jammed on me in eh , 7 months. I had it for 2 years.Read full review...

Nostalgia

I got this for my boyfriend as a sentimental gift. It came with the IOS 4, but I was able to update to IOS 6. My FaceTime along with iMessage still works. There are not many apps to download, but I am just using it for music and photos. The screen has a bit of scratches (probably from the mailing process), but it’s not bad for the price! I bought a screen protector to go on it, and I recommend buying a case! Browsing is fine. Currently, I’m struggling to set up mail, but other than that highly recommend if you need something go by cheap and practical.Read full review...
