iPad 3 3rd Gen still cutting edge!

The iPad 3 3rd gen is still an awesome piece of tech. It might not be as thin as an iPad air, but still offers almost all the features of the newer models. A great plus is Apples continued support of this device, it can run iOS 9, Apple's latest mobile device software. And it runs it well! Very fast tablet all around. The retina display is stunning, the aluminum case is beautiful, and the back and front cam work great for snap shots and video chat. I purchased one with 64GB of storage and I must say for busy student and working professional I have not even come close to running out of GBs. I love how I can now integrate my iPhone with this iPad using continuity in iOS 9, for example I can take a cell phone call on the iPad if I don't have my iPhone handy as long as its on the same wifi network! Anyhow, the touchscreen on this iPad is extremely responsive! My only con would be watching streaming video drains the battery a bit faster than I would like. But overall I would recommend this great product to anyone.

Good Value for the money

Battery life is short and takes about 12 hours to fully charge. Seems to be slower than other apple devices we have of similar age. No power cord provided we had to purchase our own.

This IPad 3rd gen,64GB is everything it said it was. very easy to use, plays movies great. Pictures come in HDR. The sound is awesome. I had it playing in one room and could here it perfect from another room. Completely satisfied with it. I can be on this for hours. It doesn't hurt my eyes like my laptop does. You can do everything on it. Pay bills, send emails, buy thing off ebay, watch movies. This is the perfect size too. Get one and have loads of fun. Battery last a long time too. Just what I was looking for!

I just had two previous mishap in purchasing IPads from two other vendor. But ended up coming across this deal after getting my refund. It was SO PERFECT! It had EVERYTHING I needed in one package and I was able to upgrade to the IPad 3 from the IPad 2, I had just returned. I had even purchased an Bluetooth key board, but had purchased the wrong kind and had to return it so I was still in need of one and still in need of a case as well. Also, neither of the other vendors I purchased from previously included he charging cords with them. And the earphones was just and extra bonus. I don't use them my husband does and he just happened to lose his at the gym. So it worked out better than I could even imaged. The case is really cool, you can flip the direction of the IPad up or sideways and is very lightweight. I am a writer and a patient at the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Whether I'm sitting around writing or watching videos and movies while waiting our turn at Mayo. So this grouping is an amazing help for small lightweight travel. So on try #3, she's a BIG winner! Thank you very much!Read full review...

Great Device but not really worth all the money

I bought this item on Ebay for my son whose upcoming classes required an Ipad for course material. So while I didn't use it personally beyond ensuring that the item worked, I can share my first impressions only. Appearance wise, its a sleek and beautiful device. Its lightweigth and the touch screen was very fluid. The screen display was also impressive. My son on the other hand has done nothing but rave about it. I personally use the ASUS Transformer and I honestly see very little difference between the two devices. My Transformer for way less then half cost of this Ipad does more, offers better storage expransion but on the Android platform. I liked the Ipad but honestly don't think its worth all that money. I guess you pay for the Apple on the back (-: Anyway, its a great device for what it is but definitely not worth the money being asked for. I would recommend this device only if you need it, as in my son's case. Otherwise, I would say get a good Android tablet for way less money.Read full review...

Ipad 3 64GB, Does it Live Up to the IMMENSE Hype? OHH YES!!!

The good: Apple's new iPad includes a stunning new screen, matched by a quad-core graphic processor and the world's largest app and media store to feed it content. There's a proper 5-megapixel rear camera now, with 1080p recording quality. Optional 4G data from AT&T and Verizon afford an uncompromising mobile experience.

The bad: The new iPad is slightly heavier than last year's model; apps and movies optimized for the screen might take up more space; and ports for HDMI, USB, and SD require adapters.

The bottom line: With a host of improvements--faster graphics, 4G wireless options, a better camera, and a gorgeous high-res screen--the latest iPad cements its position at the head of the tablet pack.

Apple's new iPad is a mix of the familiar and the futuristic. Its design remains practically unchanged from last year's iPad 2. Its internal components and wireless capabilities have only received a predictable bump. You'd think Apple fell asleep at the wheel with this one--until that moment when you turn on the screen.

When I tell you that Apple has doubled the iPad's screen resolution to an unprecedented 2,048x1,536 pixels, your eyes should water a little. No other screen in your home can compete with this resolution--not your laptop, not your desktop computer, not even your 1080p TV. For a device that fits in your lap and costs as little as $499, a screen like this is an impressive feat.

Speaking of pricing, the going rate for an iPad hasn't changed since the tablet's introduction in 2010. The $499 entry-level price buys you 16GB of built-in storage; spending $599 buys you twice the room (32GB); and $699 will bring you up to 64GB. All three models can access the Internet over Wi-Fi and are available in either black or white. If you want the added ability to access the Internet over a 4G or 3G cellular network (Verizon or AT&T), tack on an extra $130.

Design
Looking at the new iPad, you'd think someone was playing a trick on you. It looks almost exactly like last year's model. The tablet's glass and aluminum construction is still 9.5 inches tall and 7.31 inches wide. Thickness is now up slightly at 0.37 inch, weighing in at a beefier 1.44 pounds. You get the same home button on the bottom of the screen, and a volume rocker on the right side along with the mute switch/rotation lock. Up top you have the sleep/wake button and headphone output, and the bottom edge retains the 30-pin port.

New features
Beyond the vastly improved screen there are a number of other upgrades worth mentioning. The iPad's processor has been upgraded to what Apple is calling an A5X. Like the A5 processor used in the iPad 2, this CPU remains dual-core. The "X" is there to signify that the graphics processor has been beefed up to quad-core. This seems to be a necessary measure for juggling four times the pixels of the previous model, but regardless, games and graphics perform fluidly.

Against everyone's expectations, Apple did not include its Siri digital assistant on the new iPad--at least, not entirely. Siri's voice-to-text dictation capability has migrated to the iPad, but that's it. If you want to find nearby sushi restaurants, you're going to have to search for the answer online, like a neanderthal.

Still, the addition of voice dictation is a welcome feature, and it can be handy for composing quick e-mails and bypassing the touch-screen keyboard when searching for information online. Its accuracy leaves a little to be desired, though.

My 13 year old son loves it. He has wanted one for a long time. It works great. The only problem we have is that the plug in for the charger cord does not work with ipad or cord, we had to use my plug in for my iphone. Can we exchange for one that is compatible.
Thx

Great iPad and great store.

Have an original iPad (1st gen), and it is very good at almost everything a laptop can do. At 16 GB it is adequate.

Purchased this 3d gen, latest version, with 64 GB. The first gen was very good. The 3d gen's incredible screen is, well, incredible. The 64 GB version is well worth it. Incredible speed to go with the incredible screen. Perhaps the most incredible part is the price! Apple is not known for low pricing. I decided to take a chance, and bought one used for well under $500 from the Gazelle store. Rated as "good", it looked new to me. Has worked flawlessly, and the 64GB version used is worth skipping the "new" box and shrink wrap to spend more for just 16GBs. Gazelle store was very fast and efficient.

Overall a great buying experience, and I would recommend both the iPad and the store without reservation.

IPad3 sparkles

I had an iPad2 which was, with only 16GB, inadequate to hold my books and music so I upgraded to an iPad3 with 64GB. BIg difference. It's faster and the display just sparkles. It syncs up the calendars with my iPhone.
Something I love, which isn't specific to this device is the Japanese keyboard. It functions just like a Japanese word processor. It presents a hiragana (phonetic) keyboard and offers katakana and kanji possibilities. IPhone does this too, and the synchronization extends to text in Japanese. This feature plus the Midori app have replaced several inches of books on my shelf. Wish I'd had this stuff when I was studying the language in school.
Also makes a pretty good Kindle reader. A delight!

Apple's iPad with Retina display really does deliver! Worth the price

I love my iPad. Did a lot of research into tablets before I bought one and am pleased with my purchase. The battery life is very consistant, even when streaming movies constantly. Apple has a huge stable of apps for it and the 64gb hard drive will take me a bit of time to fill up. Though I still think it would be nice if one day we had the ability to use SD cards, but it will never happen. The Retina display is crisp, brilliant, and bright. I would buy one again, though I would probably go with a cellular model next time. It does have some Wifi connectivity issues sometimes, i.e. signal tends to drop off, but overall its not anything major.Read full review...
