Way too big

This was a surprise in a good way!
Bought these because I had been looking to gift a nice Bluetooth party speaker to my brother and son for Christmas. Reviews were pretty solid with these and I had listened to more expensive options from Sony, JBL, and the Hyperboom to get an idea of what to compare it to. For sound quality and loudness these compare very well to those speakers especially for the price. For this price nothing comes close to the sound quality, and it competes against and even sounds better than some of the others (to me the Hyperboom has best overall sound and the JBL 310 partybox is also awesome), BUT they are about $400 each and do not blow the Altec Lansings away as you would expect for the price. Like the JBLs and the Hyperboom, the Altec Lansings have heavy bass, but the Altecs actually allow separate adjustment of treble too! In addition, the Altecs can be paired together to form a stereo set of party speakers for half the price of one of the competition. While you can't go wrong with the others, the combination of price and performance are unbeatable in the Altec Lansings. Save your money, get the Altec Lansings and use the difference in price to throw a party!Read full review...
