Great Pairings of Bing & Satchmo, Andrews Sisters

This CD has only ten tracks, but it is enjoyable because it features Bing partnered with Louis Armstrong on three songs and with the Andrews Sisters on two. The two Andrews Sisters recordings, "Ac-cent-tchu-ate the Positive" and "Don't Fence Me In," are available on many CDs, but harder to find are Bing and Satchmo performing "Sugar," "Lazy River," and "Bye Bye Blues." I especially like "Sugar," in which Bing and Pops trade off singing and vocalizing scientific information about sugar. Also on the CD are "Swinging on a Star," "Dear Hearts and Gentle People," Bing's theme song "Where the Blue of the Night (Meets the Gold of the Day)," "Easter Parade," and "Dardanella."

I recommend this CD to Bing Crosby fans and Louis Armstrong fans. The Satchmo recordings make it worth purchasing.
