This is what I neede and is working out great or I would not be typing now.

I bought this motherboard because my last finally fryed. It too was an Asus P4. I like the layout of the back plane. I was going to upgrade to a newer processor family. This allows for me to go up to Core i7. The lack of a paraelle port was the only draw back. You should know what you have and what changes you need to do. I didn't want to throw away working equipment just to upgrade. I want to do that over time. It a good product but limited in choices (i.e) LGA1156. There are other but you should check on each before you comitt. Ebay was great and the seller was a good honest vendor. RussRead full review...

Dont buy this board!

Wouldn't boot up if I had more than one stick of memory in the board. I also had trouble running sli on this board.

I had an asus maximus gene iv it burn out , the P7P its not as good, but I dont overclok and do SLI with the ati hd cards .
