Bantam Grip Can be Modified to Fit an LCRx

I knew this grip wasn't designed to fit an LCRx, due to its exposed hammer, but I ordered it anyway. I love the stock Hogue grip for shooting 327 magnum in my 1.87" barrel LCRx. But that grip was too big for pocket carry, and was a little bulky for IWB unless I was wearing a loose fitting sweater or jacket. The Bantam grip installed easily and the LCRx functioned fine in DAO. But it wasn't possible to shoot in single action because the top of the grip interferes with the hammer when attempting to pull it fully back. I used an X-Acto knife to cut out a channel in the top center portion of the Bantam grip back strap. It was an iterative process, because I didn't want to remove more material than necessary. Took about 15 minutes. The final product wasn't especially pretty but it functions just fine. Now the LCRx conceals as well as my S&W 642 J-Frame. My plan is to use the original Hogue grip while carrying 327 magnum in the winter, and use the Bantam grip while carrying lighter recoiling 32 H&R mag in the warm weather. Kind of like having two guns in one!Read full review...

I know it's supposed to be small, but this is REALLY small!

Like all Hogue grips this is a well made grip, the problem is it is just too small. I understand fully it is SUPPOSED to be small but ...it's really small :) I have medium size male hands and I have to squeeze to be able to get two fingers on it. If a guy has larger hands or thicker fingers, you'll have your trigger finger and middle finger only on this thing. Also the grip is a bit slicker too than the average Hogue grip.

With all that said, it conceals great!

Big improvement

At first I wasn't to sure. Lack of stipple on the sides and it did feel smaller. 100 rounds later, no problem, Very comfortable with out the finger indents on the original grip, my fingers just didn't land where they wanted because of the indents. No problem now. The plastic sides are no problem and the grip front and back have enough stipple for a good grip. The other grip would take the skin off between my thumb and pointer finger on recoil, this grip you can shoot all day, nothing. I think because you can put your fingers where you want and it's a little softer on the top of the back strap. I also wrap my left hand around my right and set my thumb on the back of the grip on the very top pointing forward, you can see the sights over it, it gives more control over the recoil and keep you on target better. Patients putting it on, very good fit so it has to be just right to curve up on, it might take a few tries. Star bit screw. Conceals better.Read full review...

Ffits wife's small hands and much better for pocket carry.

I bought this grip for my petite wife, to fit her small hands. With the original Rogue Tamer grip, the preformed finger grooves did not fit her, AT ALL. She can get all fingers on this grip and even though it is not nearly as cushioned, has improved her accuracy and comfort/confidence tremendously. The grip also makes pocket carry practically undetectable and does not hang up when drawing the pistol.Read full review...

Superb for concealed carry

These grips make the LCR even more concealable due to the smaller footprint they provide versus the standard grips. I can now carry my LCR in my front pocket without printing. It may take some practice to get used to them, but I'm confident that all will be good after a few trips to the range. I don't foresee having any problems adjusting to the switch.Read full review...

Hogue Rubber Bantam Tamer Boot Grip RUGER LCR

The rubber grip that my LCR came with make it impossible to carry in a pocket: the rubber clings to the cloth of my pocket so tenaciously that I can't draw the gun or fire inside my pocket. These grips are also made of rubber, but are hard smooth rubber and they do not 'cling.'Read full review...

Best grip choice for Ruger LCR

This is my third try at grips for the LCR, as the revolver really hurts to shoot. This grip silves he problem, and is great for concealed carry, the material does not " stick" to clothing. With the hese I am no longer considering selling gun.Read full review...

Fits DA only model

Smaller and thinner than the original grip on the gun. Makes carrying iwb & pocket less noticeable. I have the X model with hammer so I had to trim some of the rubber off in order to cock the hammer. Other than that it’s perfect Read full review...

Excellent upgrade for your LCR! A must have!

Such a big positive difference from the original Tamer grips! While smaller, the Monogrip feels good in the hand while still allowing for a good purchase on my LCR. Concealabilty is far better too. Without the tackiness of the Tamer grip and paired with a AHolster front pocket holster, my LCR disappears in my front pocket. Makes for a much more comfortable CC experience with my now having gotten older. A must have for any LCR owner! Stay safe everyone!Read full review...

Buy these for CCW

Great fit for the Ruger LCR. Once these are installed it shrinks the overall dimensions of my LCR to my S&W 642 with the smaller, 2 finger boot grips. Makes the difference between being able to front pocket conceal carry and not. Read full review...
