I almost didn't buy this adapter because everyone mentioned that it was not true gigabit speeds. Well, I'm a Computer Tech and ran some tests with our work 700MB connection. First, with my work computer I got 500 Mbps down 600 Mbps up. I then tried my tablet with the gigabit adapter and got 260 Mbps down and 350 Mbps up. The reason I got less on this adapter is because it's a USB serial compared to a PCIe card in my work computer. For those who said this is not a true gigabit adapter, you have to make sure that every device you're plugged into is gigabit. That means your modem or switch has to be gigabit too and not just the adapter. You're not going to get full gigabit speeds because of the serial connection but, 250 Down and 350 Up isn't bad for the connections we have at home. I currently have lightning 150 and this should be sufficient for my needs. Overall I rate this product a four star item because even if it is not a true gigabit, it's not a either just 100M like everyone claims and for $10 you can't go wrong.Read full review...

A cheap, but good dongle
