Zune iPod
You know, I have owned about a million iPods. All of which have broken within 6 months.
Zunes have always been my preference. I had one Zune 80GB at one point for about a year, no problems, then I lost it.
So i thought since I'm quite a careless guy, I would invest in a cheaper one (30gb).
I don't know if it is this model, or if it is because it was shipped from God-Knows-Where, Asia via eBay-
but there are a few flaws with this one I purchased.
1) When ever I drop it or bump it into something, it restarts.
2) If it has been off for a 24 hour+ period, it will only turn on once plugged into the computer.
So- I am a little disappointed.
However, I only paid $90.00 for it, so it still feels like a victory.
I am sure that if I had boughten this model off of a Zune distributor it would work perfectly, but unfortunately eBay is not the most efficient way of buying products.
Zune's software is phenomenal. It organizes all of your music, videos and pictures for you. The simple yet flawless design is what makes it so popular.
The previous Zune I owned, had a touch pad below the screen. Which I thought was very cool. This model however, does not. I was under the impression that this model was newer than the 80GB's? So why no touch pad? Hmmm. I'm sure that customers thought it was useless, or something. But none of the less, it is almost a Carbon Copy of the "previous models".
Obviously, I would rather pick a Zune out of a babies' rectum than use an Apple Product, so I give this Zune (in particular) a 4/5.Read full review...
Great value. Comes with Wifi, Radio, Podcast compatible and so much space!
The battery life hasn't been too great. The Zune is cool though. It offeres many features like Radio...which I love and the main reason why I bought it. It has so much room to add music but I mainly want it for podcasts. The downside of it...which I should have considered before I got all worked up to buy a Zune was the fact that I have a Mac and need to add the program to sync my Zune. Older model Zune player...Good buy for kids
I was looking for a Zune for a good price and had enough space for my daughter to listen to her music, and also watch movies and videos while we're traveling. The Zune 30gb was the best buy to meet those needs. Although it is an older model, it handles pretty much the same way the newer ones would. She's able to download and listen to music at the same speed and with the same amount of ease. If there was any knock against the older version, it would be its size, as the 30gb has a more boxy shape compared to newer models. The more awkward shape is less likely to fit in any pocket or case, so you have to carry while walking. Outside of that, it's a pretty good buy.Read full review...
Feedback for Zune
This is not a good product. Besides getting hang in the first two days of usage, this is a bulky, heavy and ordinary looking player. Since it is a hard-drive based player, firmware hang, crash is much more likely than a flash based player. In MS zune you can't just copy paste the folder(s) from your machine to the player. Only way to copy the folder(s) is to sync it.
There is not much difference in copying and syncing, but changing an interface to give it a cool look is a bad choice. Moreover, you can't get folder arrangement in the player. There are several ways to play a song but none of them includes selecting a song from a folder. Absence of this feature pissed me off the most. I have 6000+ songs in my laptop and most of them does not have correct mp3 tags (title, genre, album etc.). What I see those files in the player, it is track01, track02 etc. Either you should find a quick hack to create playlist according to your folder(s), or fix mp3 tags of all your files and re-sync. Last but not the least, you have to (literally have to) install bulky zune software (126 MB+) to do anything with your player. Your OS will detect the device but won't let you do anything with it unless you install the S/W. And yes, your Windows have to be genuine.

Good buy for what I wanted!
I bought this product because I was compairing the iPod classic 5th generation with this Zune. I wanted to see which was better, (had more features); Microsoft Vs. Apple.
I really liked that this product had FM radio capabilities! I also liked that yoyu could share music with other Zune users. The only thing I didn't like about the product is compaired to an iPod it only lacks the preset games. That's really all I thought was a let down.
This product is good for a beginner Zune users. In my oppinion Zune is more functional than iPod.Read full review...
I call my Zune poop want to know why?
Well let me say that I got this it needed a new battery and the person I got it from mail me a new one and it is easy to change. I like it. Because I like Auto Books and you can listen to one and it holds your place if you want to listen to some music and go back to the book later. I don't know anyone with one so I couldn't use the share feature. Just think how long they had it where you could do that. I call my poop because I kept having problem getting the books off. No easy way to do it. If you use OverDrive. But, I got where a long way about it to do it. That I don't like. But it gets them off.The sound is Super Great.Read full review...
Bought this used in excellent condition.
I'm not sure if I'm just so familiar with an iPod, but the Zune was more difficult to put files and music on it. This item looks to be in perfect looking condition, but I have noticed that sometimes when i plug it into my car to charge the screen dims and brightens uncontrollably. Weird quirks of a used Zune... Also had some trouble when the battery was low? I would go to play a song and it shut off, turn back on and shut itself on again 3x with out me touching anything.
Other points
is longer then a deck of cards, with the width and thickness of a deck of cards
Volume can easily go too loud too fast. careful for your car speakers!
You can go to the zune website and update it so you can have games like poker.
Has a decent lil screen, I have been watching episodes of family guy on it.

The Zune is a great MP3 and video player
I am very impressed with te Microsoft Zune. The clarity of the videos is amazing. I like that it automatically shows videos in portrait layout so you the aspect ratio is not affected. I love all of the accesories available for the Zune that you'll never find for an IPOD. The built in FM radio and wireless connectivity is a very nice feature too. You can transfer files to a nearby Zune wirelessly or connect to wireless internet connection to sync with your PC or buy music and videos online. This is overall a great player for the price and you don't have to use Apple's proprietary software which is the best part of all!Read full review...
Great sound, software and hardware make this an excellent buy!
I have had my 30 GB Halo 3 Zune for over 6 years now. It has ran pretty good over those years. I have used countless MP3 players over the years and this has always came out on top. I always stay away from Apple products since they 1). Suck and are overrated 2). Force you to use their software 3). Is a really unethical company. My brother got his ipod nano around the same time I got this. He immediately loved my Zune over his ipod and when the Zune HD came out, he got one of those.
This Zune is solidly built. The interface has been upgraded a couple of times but I will have to say that it is great every time. I love the built in FM tuner it has and the ability to purchase music on the Zune Marketplace. This series of Zune's do have a built in equalizer and make your music sound much better. The Zune software is the best on the market right now and it is free. I recommend that anybody that wants a good music player download this from the zune website.
30 GB was perfect for me then but now is not enough. I ended up buying another 30 GB Zune used just so I can have another one. Now I have 2 and I love them! Don't worry, I'll get a 3rd one real shortly!Read full review...
Great Used Device for Beginners
I really like and enjoy this easy to work Mp3 player it has some options that I didn't expect it to have like the automatic list feature when you start to sync it to your computer to pull up a list of songs already on your hd. You can even preview a song before uploading it to the players memory. I also enjoy the FM tuner built into the device which picks up pretty good stations that are local to my area. I've only had this Mp3 player for 2 days now and I really love it for its ease of use. Hopefully this helps anyone debating on buying one.Read full review...
