I have had three different brands of fan remotes in my house for the past 10 years. Only the Hunter fan remotes still work. Moreover, these remotes are easy to understand/use. Some remotes are not particularly intuitive in their design -- these are. And the quality seems there. I recommend and have in fact bought two more to replace the odd-brand remotes that failed me within the last year. I guess the only drawback is the price. No way to change "transmittal code on remote"

This remote control is NOTHING like the one it was to replace. The previous Hunter remote allowed the changing of the remote's "code" within the battery compartment. There's NO WAY to use the new remote WITH an existing Hunter fan "receiver".Read full review...

Remote works well, simple install. To activate dimming feature, press and hold the fan "off" button down and press the light button 2 times. This will activate the light dimming feature/function.
