Decent sound for price

It is a great set considering the price. I read many reviews before committing to purchase and have to agree, best bang for buck.
The only minor problem is when the source contains super low frequencies the woofers start resonating, distorting the sound. This can happen even at low volume. I as a retired sound engineer wish there was a low frequency filter as professional equipment has. Turning down the volume in the PC and up in speakers helps a little bit as it reduces the frequency compensation applied in amplifier.Read full review...

Amazing speakers, with just a couple of niggles.

The design of these speakers is something to behold, if you look up the sketch on the good ol'Google you'll know exactly what I mean. They are bi-amped 2.2 speakers which means both "snail" 🐌 looking towers have an amp built in to share the volume and power load. Also each base has a 3" woofer driver plus 2 passive radiators to aid with the low frequencies, which I have to say it does really well.

I have tried them with my classic FiiO E7 amp and the sound from the old Wolfson chip was a bit too warm (bass slightly boomy), even though it had a smooth transparency. I have since connected them to a different DAC and the sound is a bit more balanced with more tight bass which is what I wanted. However I'm probably going to get a Black Dragonfly DAC to try with the E10 too at some point. So these are quite sensitive to a good source, this is very noticeable when comparing lower quality MP3 to a FLAC file.

Bluetooth works fine for what it is, both on my tablet and my phone. Only thing I wish these speakers had was a remote. I mean all other Edifier speakers have one, so why not these? Also maybe a bass adjust on the remote, and remember the volume level?

Last thing - I bought these refurbished from OneNine and they were like new, just the corner of the box being rough.

Can't go wrong with these speakers. Even for a starting or experienced DJ I would say, they're plenty loud enough for Trance, Drum & Bass, UK Hardcore... 🔊

These speakers are cheap for the money, but have really good sound. Not a good as my Monsoons, but for the money they are awesome speakers and less than half the price of the Monsoons

Fantastic desktop speaker system. Better than any Logitech system I've ever owned. Definitely more focused on treble than bass. I've turned them up all the way, had very minuscule to zero distortion with some tunes. I mainly listen to EDM (ie. UK Hardcore, Hardstyle, Psytrance, Electro-House, Minimal, Dubstep, DnB, and Vocal Trance).

Excellent sound quality for the price

These speakers, like any other, will need appropriate break-in time before a full evaluation can be done on them. Once broken in though, they are quite nice! If positioned properly within a reasonably acoustically sound room, the sound stage is quite large (and deep) given the slimmer format. Definitely satisfied with these. Also, if you're plugging them directly into your computer, go with the highest quality mini to mini (and shortest if possible) to maintain maximum fidelity.Read full review...
