Great Printer For The Whole House

This is a great way to let all the computers in your house share one printer. In my house I have 5... my PC, my wife's PC, a laptop each, and a low-end DIY box I use for playing with Linux.

The installation of this printer was really easy. I plugged it into one of the wired ports on our wireless router and had all the PCs in the house printing to it within 10 minutes. I not only got our Windows machines using it in minutes, when I recently did a test install of Linspire on my DIY box, Linux printed to it with no problem too.

The output quality is great and it warms up pretty quickly. The only "bad" part is when I'm at my desk upstairs (where the printer is), my wife is downstairs with her laptop, and she prints something. Having the printer start up and print without warning was sort of spooky and took a little getting used to.

But all in all, this is awesome. One printer serves the whole house, gives great-looking output, and was a snap to get working.

Good inexpensive printer with high quality output.

I purchased this laser printer primarily because of the high cost of cartriges for my ink jet printer. We print a lot of text pages at home so it seemed logical that a laser printer could reduce the cost of that type of printing considerably. It certainly has! This printer is easy to set up and the print quality is top notch. The network interface makes it a cinch for all the PC's on my network to share it. The built in print spooler keeps simultanious print jobs sorted out. And this printer is fast. 20 pages per minute is not an exaggeration. The paper tray holds 250 sheets, about 50 more than other printers in this price range. The starter toner cartridge is rated for about 1000 prints and that is exactly how many it printed before the toner ran out (1122 to be exact). Replacement cartridges are rated at 2500 prints. It would take at least 6 or 8 inkjet refills to achieve the same yield. I could buy 2 or 3 inkjet printers for that kind of money. The bottom line is that if you have a need to print a lot of text type files and color is not important, then this printer will reduce the cost of each print to just pennies. Well worth the price I paid and it has already paid for itself by not using my inkjet for this type of printing.Read full review...

Love it, but seems to take alot of watts

Bought one for my son in college, and in 9 months, one for me. Toner lasts very long time, and is relatively inexpensive compared to other toners. Very quick first page. Print quality is good for the business I am in. My only complaint so far is that it seems to draw alot of watts in electricity. My lights in the office dim, and flicker when I turn it on, and continue when its printing. I rent an office, so I have no idea what kind of electrical box we have, but nothing else has done this to date, even a very powerful shredder.Read full review...

Very fast - but noisy...

This printer had to replace an earlier multi-function HP device that wasn't consistently reliable w/Windows7 and using a USB chord adapter.
I like the speed of out-put of this new rother Laser printer. Consumables will be a little pricey but are available as refills (i.e. cheaper than OEM). (It does require both toner and drum replacement at different intervals.)
Earlier/other reviews mention the loud sound of this printer - it's true - I guess they tucked a jet engine in there to make it so fast!?! :)
I really like the manual duplexing option in the "print" advanced dialogue. It prompts you when to insert the paper for each side and shows the correct orientation for reloading the sheets to print the second side. This has worked well so far - no sticky/staticky pages double-feeding, etc.
This seems to be an excellent, basic, monochrome laser printer for home use.
I'd buy again and encourage others to consider it. My netbook computer (Windows7 Starter OS) identified the printer and installed the drivers with no intervention on my part.

Brother HL-2070N

This is an excellent inexpensive laser printer. My application is for a printout on a diagnostic machine and I don't need most of the capabilities of this printer but is works well and is cheap. The output is clear and sharp and it only takes about 30 seconds to warmm up.

I got this to replace an older model Brothers laser printer (2040) that gave good service but was in need of a drum. This printer is cheaper than replacing the drum.

All that I expected

I am sorry that these printers are no longer on the market; mine stopped working (electrical problem, it seems.) Getting another one, though it is not new, was a relief for me.

Great value

Because I do VM work with old OS’s, I needed something that could work with everything from NT 4.0 through Win10. This worked well.

Brother HL207N Lazer Printer

I bought this printer because even though it is a discontinued model, it was rated very highly on several websites. Customer reviews said it was fast and reliable. It is...quick and very nice detail in what it prints. I'm quite happy with it.Read full review...

Very Nice

Very easy to set up. I love the network capability. It has a quick warm-up time and the first page is out really fast. Very good printer for the price.
