Great stable router - get it while you can.

This router can be upgraded to the Tomato or DD-WRT firmware. My choice is to keep it simple, so I use Tomato. I have gone for as long as a year between having to reboot the router and even then it was just incase - most likely any issues are caused by my internet provider. QOS is fairly easy to setup if you have VOIP. What can I say - great product all in all - I use two at home - second as a wireless bridge to the first one and can stream VUDU 1080P across - so much for just G networking. At this point do not see any need for "n" router.Read full review...

Using the Buffalo G54 WHR-HP-G54 Router

I have used this router before. Reading the instructions on the CD will save you time. It has good range, and fairly easy to modify if you want to change the firmware, for example to Tomato, or DD-WRT. Keep in mind you may not be able to change back to Buffalo firmware if you do this.
Don't waste time trying to set up the AOSS one touch secure system if your computer doesn't have an AOSS wireless unit/adapter. Many people waste a lot of time here. It's in the CD manual.

Great Performance, Flexibility and Range

I have 4 G54 WHR-HP-G54 Routers / Bridges. I use them in my home network. It's always been stable and has good performance. Why stay with a G network and not upgrade to a N one might ask? I did but lost my range. I still have the N router and bridges I bought with it but everytime I get them out and try them I run into the same issue, poor range which causes dropped signals.

Better then old firmware

DD-WRT works better than the old factory firmware. I don't think this is the mow up-to-date firmware version, but I am not going to try to change it.

Great Router

Two Words. DD-WRT. Repeater. WDS. This router is a $500 router with the software capabilities that are on it. I wouldn't buy anything else.

G54 WHR-HP-G54 Wireless Router

Works good for me. It picks up from 150 ft. with walls and doors in the path.
Not hard to setup. But I have trouble seting up the wap. But overall I really like this product.
