Unlike some other buyers, to date (3 full weeks of use), I've not had any issues with the optional carbon filters either inhibiting and/or stopping the gravity flow of h2o from the reservoir into the bowl. This is one of the easiest water dishes I have ever used. I just love it. It is easy to fill and return to its base. My only suggestion would be to have an actual handle on the top of it so it is easier to handle after filling.
