Rock solid phone mount!
I had a previous version and loved it. The rubber eventually wore out so I ordered another and it looks like the rubber part has been improved. I love that it does not require any glue or suction to any surface, neither does it block an AC vent. It is rock solid in my mini Cooper's cd slot. One of my favorite things about this cd slot phone holder is that I can take it when I travel and usually can use it in the car I rent. Super handy!Read full review...

Not bad, but not great
The swivel thing does not fully lock, so when driving (acceleration) or even when taking the phone off, the thing moves down, which is very annoying, especially when it moves by itself when driving. When removing the phone the thrust from taking it off causes tot loosen, so I am constantly tightening, but I still cannot get it super tight by hand.

Does have strong magnet and well designed
My wife is using this in her Honda Odyssey as she never uses the CD Player. It works great. I was concerned about the magnet not being strong enough through my wife's Otterbox case (Defender Series), but it works great. My only concern is some of the reviews I read where people said the holder rubber that goes into CD slot can fuse into the CD slot after hot days. In fact, the instructions that come with it even call it out and say to not keep it in hot car for long periods of time. This may end up being a pain in the butt, but we're heading into winter so won't be an issue for another 9 months.Read full review...

Defective Design - Will Damage Your Car!
I purchased one of these items in early 2016 and after attempting to remove it from my CD slot, about 10 months later, it was FUSED to my CD slot. I literally could not pull it out with my hands - it was completely stuck!
The rubber coating that goes into the slot got sticky over time and actually fused/got stuck to the inner parts of my CD slot, including the hair-like "fuzz" that protects the opening of the slot. After an hour of finagling and carefully pulling with pliers, I was able to remove the mount; however, it damaged the hair-like "fuzz" and left sticky residue at the opening of my CD player.
I contacted TechMatte over a month ago via eBay messages and they have not responded.

Not for all CD slots
The quality of the product is better than I expected and the magnet held up well to my Moto G 3rd Generation Phone with a soft rubber case however, I did not fit my CD slot, even though it was tightened, with the tightening knob, it kept falling out. It was in the perfect spot that I could place my Cell but very disappointed that it did not fit! low build quality, design is problematic
I bought two of these for each of our family cars.
On my mazda 3 the tightening handle blocks the access to the volume knob which makes the whole experience a bit awkward. Also, one of the metal screws was starting to open and I had to manually tighten it otherwise the whole mount seems to come apart.
On my car I have a pioneer radio with a detachable panel so the fit of the mount in the slot isn't ideal.
After a few days of careful use the mount literally broke into two major pieces:
1. The magnet holder with the small plastic handle

Small, elegant solution for the car
I researched quite a number of different phone holders for my car, many different styles and designs. I chose this one for its small size, simplicity, and low price. It works very well, and I'm happy with my choice. The device would probably stay in place in the CD slot without even being tightened, but with a bit of expansion it's quite secure. I don't find the handle of the screw very obtrusive. It blocks a bit of the radio display, but not enough to matter. And one could always replace it with a smaller bolt, as was mentioned in one of the other reviews.
The thin magnetic card fits easily between my case and the phone, and stays in place without being fastened in any way. The phone stays on the mount securely during driving. The phone itself does block a portion of the radio display, but I've found it's not a big problem, and it can always be temporarily removed for a few seconds if there's something you have to see.
The build seems high-quality, so I imagine I'll be using this little device for years to come!Read full review...

Does exactly what it says on the box! The magnets are strong and work well with two cases I've tested (CaseMate Glam and Speck SmartFlex, a textured case). Both work equally well. I like the fact that it comes with two magnets - it would be awesome to be able to purchase spare magnets to use in additional cases or in case I lose one. The grip is strong and survives city driving with minor movement of the phone over sharp speed bumps. I've not yet had the insertion piece become loose or warp in our hot Australian summer so far!
The CD player in my car is directly above the screen, so the lower knob does impede on it visually, but to be honest I don't look at the screen often anyway so it is an easy compromise.
