A compact tool that works like the big boyz. With today's cars i wouldn't buy a car with out scanning it for codes or monitors being completely set.This scanner is the best priced on Ebay to date. There Could Be Much Better Information on How to Use Error Codes

This tool let me know my check-engine light was on due to "an evaporative leak". All I had to do was remove my gas cap and screw it back in a little tighter. My only complaint is that I had to guess what would cause "an evaporative leak" and what to do about it. It could do a much better job of explaining how to use the error codes.Read full review...

OM123 OBD MATE II scan tool

This is a good code scanner for the money. It is not the 10k scan tool From Snap ON. However I always bring this with me when looking for a used vehicle. It has kept me from buying numerous problem vehicles . When a vehicle has a PO700 trans code STAY AWAY. It will see the codes if the vehicle has them stored in the ECU. Good value for $25 and does basic functions.

Basic code reader used to read codes on 2 cars got same codes as unit I purchased 8 years ago for $100.
It gave generic codes and was able to clear codes. For $20-$25 dollars does the basics. Only thing I don't like is searching for make of vehicle, why is it so hard for companies to put them in ALPHABETICAL order.
