Holds far more than 48
Our Hot Wheels collection had grown, so it was time to get a new box. This one is the best. Although it says it holds 48 vehicles, many cars can fit two to a slot, and I can get four or five cars in the bigger slots. We're not talking trucks, just cars. Doesn't fit hot wheels or matchbox tractor trailers, construction vehicles and fire trucks
I ordered this hot wheels case to replace my diecast cars carry case I've hade since the early 1970's.
That old case was a matchbox plastic suitcase type case with removable trays that hold all sizes of both hot wheels and matchbox also allowing good visibility of each car stored.
The layout of this carry case doesn't allow visibility of the cars nor do the slots fit some types of vehicles, ex. Trucks like fire trucks or tractor trailers, and construction vehicles.
If your buying this case for a kid, it'll be ok, as the price and quality is ok for nowadays normal cars and play, but if your replacing and storing vintage diecast hot wheels and matchbox cars, your better off searching something better.
Attached are a couple pictures. Not sure if you can tell some vehicle are longer and stick out (tho cover does close). The blue trays are from my old carry case which let's you see the vehicle better.Read full review...

This case is great. My grandkids love putting their matchbox and hot wheels cars in it and carry it around. They take the cars out, play, than put them back into case. Hot wheels storage case.
Hot wheels carrying case for my grandson is for Christmas, so he hasn't seen it yet, but it looks like the one my son had years ago, so I am very pleased.
