Great inexpensive mount
I purchased this mount for my uniden R3 radar detector I looked at the blend mount which I feel is to overpriced the product is nice and is a little easier to install than the performance mount. Also is it gives a little more of a factory custom install look. The performance package radar detector mirror mount on the other hand is a lot more versatile and reasonably priced and can be used on all types of window mount radar detectors. Their Uniden radar mount adapter currently does not fit their R1 or R3 detectors and might cause damage to the release button. The solution for this is very simple you just have to use the suction cup window mount without the suction cups and screw that with the provided screws onto the mirror mount and it will work just fine and hold your detector nice and sucurly. On the older 1990's obs ford pickup trucks and broncos there is enough extra room for you to use the daytime/ night time mirror positioning button on the bottom of the mirror while allowing access to the detectors controls.The mount is also well built out of aircraft aluminum.Read full review...

So far it works as advertised.
I have no idea if it's illegal to have anything mounted to my windshield here in Utah. I just got this for a cleaner look. It has worked great for that. I do, however, have a sneaking suspicion that the detector is more accurate and faster when mounted to the windshield. No facts to back it up. Just a hunch. It was a little tricky getting it all put in place and tightened down. That's one thing I'm going to be watching on this. You have to crank down on the nuts so hard I thought it would break. So if it ever works itself loose, I hope there is enough give to tighten it up again. Overall, it does the job but I think it should be about $4 cheaper.Read full review...

Took extra effort to make it work (right) with Uniden R7.
I used this with a Uniden R7 with their double suction cup connector. Connects great but vibrates bad. (Uniden's connector's fault.) I rigged a piece from my manual dimming switch to the R7 to keep it from vibrating. Not real pretty but steady as a rock!Read full review...

Doesn't engage latch
Even tho it says it fits a Uniden R1, the mount doesn't go into the radar detector far enough to engage the latch which locks the radar detector in place.
