Samsung manufactures microwaves under many brand labels. This latch is critical to achieve door closure and permit the microwave to operate. I experienced a door failure recently and was facing the purchase of a replacement unit. Searched YouTube and found a number of excellent repair videos. Probably saved me from buying a new microwave

The other day I was reaching into my microwave when my bracelet snagged on the little latch and as I was pulling my hand out it snapped that thing right off. Superglue wouldn't work and without that 2nd latch the microwave wasn't going to work. Nothing else wrong with it, but it was old enough that if I had to call a tech in it would cost me more than it's worth. Thank God for YouTube how to videos. A quick search showed me how to easily remove the inside bezel and showed me how to release the latch from the spring. Knowing I could replace it I searched for a replacement. Started at Amazon, mistake, too expensive, came to Ebay and found one for under $10, quickly shipped to me and installed in I swear 30 seconds, probably saving me the $400 or so I would have spent on a new one I really didn't need.Read full review...

Samsung Replacement Door Latch

On My model this latch is located behind the inner vinyl trim piece on the door. Using a standard screwdriver, just follow the edge and pop the bezel loose from it's inner snap hooks. The latch hook is exposed in its track. Simply lift the hook up and pull outward. It will unsnap from its guide clip. IT MUST BE LIFTED 1st! The Locking cylinders on the rear of the hook must clear the O in the rear. The spring simply hooks into the center O of the guide and the cast U on the latch. Un-hook the spring, re-attach it to the track O on the door, then on the new latch, lift the new latch pressing it along the door glide and when it clears the top rear cylindrical locking pin (cast on the back of the latch hook) press ti to snap it in! Align the vinyl trim bezel and press it into place to re lock its tabs. DONE! 3 minute repair costs less than the gas it would take to drive to a repair shop.Read full review...
