The remote controller was not operational out of the box. The receiver that connects to the fan did work, however. Since I needed the receiver (and my remote controller was still functional), this was not a big deal (though it would have been nice to have a backup remote since this was for an outside fan and my old remote is stored outside).Read full review...

Works Very Well!

Got this to go with the fan in the bedroom so we could turn it on without getting out of bed. The fan mounting bracket had the spot to hold the control unit and it fit fine. First I wired it so both the light and the fan were controlled by the remote, but then turning on the light from the wall switch was problematic. So I re-wired it so only the fan is controlled by the remote, and the light is controlled by the wall switch. All as it should be now.Read full review...

Very Convenient! Excellent product ceiling fan remote control

It's nice to lie there on your bed on a warm summer day or evening, and be able to control the fan and light without having to get out of bed. It dims the overhead light and also turns it off and regulates the fan speed. You do have to install it , though, so there are instructions on doing so...Works perfectly with our Hampton Bay outdoor ceiling fan (purchased elsewhere). Dimmer button works by holding it down - light gradually goes up or down. We keep the handheld unit inside when not in use, since it is not weatherproof.
