its just like breathing in fresh pure crisp air helps you breath easy when you are affected with colds flu or even if you suffer with seasonal allergies, hay fever, sinusitis etc this takes out all the little bits of pollen and dust floating around the atmosphere I guess the best way to describe this little gadget is when the air is electrically charged after a thunderstorm and the atmosphere or garden smells so fresh afterwards clean with a light scent of vanilla scented beads which do come in other scented fragrances online and are also optional you don't have to use them oh!! and also I have to mention before I forget I cooked yellow Haddock fish for tea and left the window open slightly with my Puremate running for 1/2 hour and MAGIC!!! the smell was gone so pleased I decided to purchase this purifier takes up no space small light and compact and zero noise runs all night makes no noise whatsoever you would think it doesn't actually do anything but it does 10/10 from moi thank you!! :)Read full review...

It is totally electronic and has no moving parts (so is silent), so no idea how this works, but it definitely seems to make a difference. I can sense cool, fresh air gently coming out of it.
