Fujifilm S4500 is awesome camera at great price.

As someone using Fuji Disposable Cameras, have little knowledge of taking photographs. Since disposable cameras are increasingly difficult to find, decided was time to upgrade. Went into ebay looking at many cameras comparing price, features, and appearance. Decided on three that appeared to be good in all catagories. Then read reviews of persons who bought the cameras. Decided the Fujifilm S4500 was the best choice. Now that the camera arrived and have had chance to use it, think I made the right choice. In auto setting can use the zoom lens and the camera takes care of the necessary adjustments to all else. The flash is easy to use and works great. Ordered a Vivitar 50" tripod from ebay vendor that works great with this camera. Since I have enjoyed the camera, know persons with more camera experience than I have will certainly enjoy it. Though it has many features it is easy to use. Would recommend it to my family and friends.Read full review...

Excellent camera for the price, surprising features, and beautiful results.

I love to take photos and use my photography in my graphic design work. I can't afford a high-end camera with all the bells and whistles, so I looked to Fuji after having a Kodak camera I was not happy with. The picture quality is beautiful, which is why I chose Fuji. I consider it the best camera for the price. I still have to learn how to use manual settings, but the built-in settings are great for just about any scene I want to shoot. I do editing of my photos in Photoshop, so I can still add effects to my photos that others can create in-camera with the more expensive brands.

I also was surprised to get a camera with a 30-zoom at this price. My suggestion, however, is to try not to use the maximum zoom for far-off photos of birds and other subjects. You can lose some detail that way. Zoom about half-way and you can crop a very nice, detailed photo later.

I haven't utilized the functions that allow you to post to facebook and other social media sites, but I look forward to trying it. I had a similar Fuji camera, almost identical except for the model number, that did not have that function, so this should be fun to try out.

This is a great camera for anyone who wants beautiful photos without much hassle. If, like me, you do a lot of editing in programs like Photoshop, then the sky is the limit. The camera is also very sturdy, which I really like. It's easy to hold and feels solid in my hands.

One more suggestion for anyone who uses this or any other camera that requires AA batteries. Get yourself some Eneloop rechargeable batteries with the charger. You can find them online at ebay and other sites. I can't stress enough that store-bought rechargeable batteries don't come close to lasting as long as the Eneloop batteries do. Eneloop batteries also come charged right out of the package. I can take tons of photos all day without having to switch out batteries, something I had to do, sometimes more than once, with store-bought brands. Do yourself a favor and get these batteries to use with this camera and you'll be a happy camper! I am in no way a representative of Eneloop batteries, I just love them, lol.

Out with the old and in with the far better camera

I am not a professional photographer, but I love taking photos. I have no formal training in this field either, but I am trying to improve my skills by getting free lessons and advice on Cafe Mom. While I am learning, I still know a great picture when I see it. I bought this Fujifilm to replace another brand that I was not happy with. The photos came out blurry most of the time even when I had it sitting on a tripod. I was told that it is the photographer and not the camera. I just knew that wasn’t true in this case when I had taken better photos with a throw away camera.
The continued frustration of all the blurry pictures and the horrible macros is why I went hunting for a new camera. I did some homework on quite a few brands. When I came across the brand I had regrettably bought I read their reviews. I read them and found out that my camera and had the same complaints from more than a few. I just knew it wasn’t me.
I looked at prices, reviews, and features. Fujifilm came up a winner with the price and features it has. Plus the fact that the optical zoom was so strong when others were only 20 -24 zoom, kept me looking at Fujifilm. The prices on the comparable cameras were higher. The retail prices were so high; they were absolutely out of my price range. When I saw the class, and price of this particular Fujifilm model S4500, I just had to buy it.
This is a great camera. It's a steal at this price. I actually would have paid more. The x 30 optical zoom can be used even without a tripod. (Better with though) It isn't bulky and heavy like I thought it would be. It also fits into a small camera bag. The first photo I took was one of a cat in the neighbors’ yard just sitting there. I used the full x30 zoom and that photo came out so perfect, so clear, so detailed, and without a tripod, I was positively amazed. The anti shake works extremely well. My husband and I went for a walk, and I took pictures of squirrels running across the wires. I could not believe the quality of the shot.
It comes with a neck strap that holds tight. The only thing that is inconvenient is that the batteries are in the bottom of the camera, but that is true of many of the cameras today.
I love the super macro, it brings things close enough to see the hairs on an insect. I like the location of the buttons; it makes taking a shot and reviewing it easy. The menus are easy to understand and in a language that us camera challenged people can understand. I'll stick with this one for years to come, and when it is time to replace this (let's face it, it is manmade) it will be another Fujifilm.

Superb Quality and Best Value EVER

I bought this camera for my wife who has long wanted to get into photography, but we just don't have the finances to purchase an expensive camera, let alone the lenses and everything else. In hopes of making her wish come true, I found this camera. It had a tremendous amount of options and capability along with a functionality and ease that would let someone experience all the functions of a top of the line camera. It allows the photographer to learn and grow their skills while providing novice entrance into the function. As her skills grew, the camera had the capability of providing her more expert tools and options that really let her broaden her horizons. From simple point and shoot to adjusting apertures and shutter speeds to her liking. What she really liked most about it was the user friendliness, the wieght, and especially the bundle we got with it that included the case, memory cards, adapters, lens cleaners, protective films, rechargeable batteries, charger, I mean the WORKS! If I had to pick something that we didn't like about it is that we didn't buy two at that price! Seriously, what a remarkable value! This product opened our eyes to FUJI and digital photography like we have never experienced before!Read full review...

I love me a FUJIFILM camera

I got this to replace a lesser model that I had used for the last 10 years, and loved. I dropped it and broke a plastic piece that latched the battery compartment. I snagged this as a buy it now deal, for less than $80. What a GREAT deal! So much camera for the money. Photos are always clear, assisted by the anti-shake feature. This camera does it all, from panoramic shots to movies and everything in between. You can set it to be fully automatic, or if you feel like getting artsy, play with setting the f-stop yourself. I am enjoying having it set on SP mode, where it captures 2 shots each time I trigger it, one with flash, one without. This camera takes amazing shots in low-light conditions. I loved my old FUJIFILM S Series 10 MP 1000 series camera, and this one is definitely an upgrade. These cameras are built to last. I was very rough with my old one, and will try to be nicer to this one. The new design of lens cover that you have to manually remove is good for me because the old design came off too easy and I'd always find the camera in my purse with the lens cap off.Read full review...

The perfect camera for amateur photography with quality results

Love this camera. It is the perfect size and weight for my fingers and hand. The camera tells me when I leave the lens cover on, which is fantastic. The AA batteries make it worth the price of the camera as I can change batteries any time and don't have to worry about recharging. The big lens is perfect for older eyes. The picture quality is excellent and the video works as a show or theater type camera. The price was right!!! Choosing this camera was easy, and the website allowed shopping through other potential choices, etc, and easy purchase.Read full review...

Great pictures and features for a low budget price.

I needed a great camera to take pictures of Jewelry. I got this today and was floored how well it took the pictures. I was told I needed a SLR with macro lens to get the close up pictures I needed. I did not have a $1000 in my budget so I started to research other options. The reviews I read for this camera were really good and accurate. For those who need good quality pics on a low budget, This is the Camera for you. Completely happy with my purchase. ThanksRead full review...

Great camera, lots of features and easy to use.

I LOVE this camera. It is easy to use and has so many features. I got this camera vs others because I have used Fujifilm cameras at work and pictures are very easy to download onto computer. I have used other cameras that are a bit more complex. It looks just as nice as other brands. Compact and not heavy at all.Read full review...

Love this camera - great value for the money !

Although we are still experiencing with our new camera, it proved to be just what we were looking for on a recent Alaskan cruise. We were looking for more than the "pocket sized" camera, and with more zooming capability. The various feature/functions are there for our use, but we use the "Auto" setting for taking most of our pictures. We like the size, weight, and feel of this camera. It seemed to compare with other brands in most categories, and the price was better, so we chose the Fujifilm.Read full review...
