Needed something better than the Harbor Freight $24 HVLP, but can't swing a new Devilbiss or SATA. Searched ebay and saw this, trying to look like a SATA. Looking at the pictures of the internals, the nozzle, air cap, etc...it appeared to be higher quality than the usual bottom feeders from China.
I looked up some online reviews and decided to give it a try. Had some issues at first, but it ended up being a bad spray gun regulator. Used the one off of my SATA 4400 (small detail gun) and it works great.
Nice atomization and she can straight lay down some paint. Very enjoyable spraying metallic and watching it lay down beautifully.
Anyway, I'm very pleased with it, and I can't wait to see how that 1.7mm nozzle does with some thick epoxy primer. I think it's definitely worth the $80 I spent on it.
By the way, what that regulator was doing, I wasn't getting any air flow turning the knob- I mean NONE, until I got to a certain point, and then it would immediately jump up to 100lbs. But then if I pulled the trigger to spray it would spit out large droplets.at a very low pressure. Cleared right up with my existing regulator.Read full review...
