I have multiple PC's with motherboards that have Q9650 as the maximum CPU, well the Q9550 is much cheaper and when looking at the comparison on CPU-world, the Q9550 is the less expensive CPU with very little difference from it's much more expensive Q9650. For 60 dollars, only a used Intel Xeon processor can beat this quad-core beast. Keep in mind however that this only supports PCIe Gen 2.0 and AVX (1.0). But if you do not mind those (most games do not see benefits from PCIe Gen 3 bandwidth yet anyway), then it's perfect for your rig. I would recommend an ASUS or Gigabyte board for it though, as Intel ones tend to be problematic.Read full review...

This cpu is still very useful in 2019, if you mix it with an SSD you will get awesome performance for work or office schedule, if you want a gaming PC this one can perform very well with 1080p and medium to ultra settings in most games (obviously using a graphics card like a gtx 750 ti and any other better.Read full review...
