Good product and easy to use overall for first time NAS user.

easy to set up to the network. You can try seagate share pro for 1 month then pay $ 9.99 one time to use it up to its potential. If 5400 RPM is too slow for you, you may change hard drive inside for more speed and you can attach USB external hard drive for more disk space. So far, no problem for me. I stream movie files from the device thru Sony BluRay player without problem. It runs quietly. I have been used it for almost 1.5 months and had to reset it once.Read full review...

Good. But Need change Option.

- From amazon
1) Don't install the software that comes with the drive. Instead open a browser, type in goflexhome.local in the Address field, and press Enter to start the setup.
2) Make sure that you don't use a 10/100 wireless router. This will be the bottle neck and slow things down immenseley.
3) If you are using a PC then use Cobian (a free backup software) to backup your PC. With a Mac use Timemachine.

- Setting Your Computer
Disable Auto-Tuning. Some people have reported that by turning of this feature there network transfer rate has improved.

4. right-click and select "Run as Administartor" on The Command Prompt
5. Type = netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

Turn off Remote Differential Compression.

2.Click on Programs
3.Select Programs and Features
4.On the left side pane select Turn Windows features on or off

By default, Windows 7 “reserves” 20% of your bandwidth for itself.
1. Press “WIN + R” key to bring up the Run window
2. Type in “gpedit.msc” like the following screenshot
3. Local Group Policy Editor = Computer Configuration = Administrative Templates = Network = QoS Packet Scheduler (You do “NOT” need to expand the QoS Packet Scheduler tree)
4. Inside the main window, “right-click” and select “Edit” on the “Limit reservable bandwidth” option.
5. Inside the window, select “Enabled” and under “Options:” in the “Bandwidth limit (%):” field, type the value “0.” Click “OK,”

Must Restart Computer !!!

Great external hard drive!

I bought this hard drive due to a friend who had one and couldn't say enough good things about it. It is great to have 3TB to be able to put pictures, movies and back ups on and then have the ability to access it from anywhere. The only downfall I see is that it is not recognized on Windows 8 yet. Other than that, it is a great hard drive.Read full review...
