Pretty Good

First let me start with what I LOVE about this game: I love that it is so interactive and the games (especially block smash) are awesome. The personal trainer is pretty good and the workout you get is awesome. The way it tracks your progress is really nice too, though there are some issues with that. I also love that you can download new work outs should the ones that come pre-programmed on it become too easy or too repetitive. I also love how the game lets you "re-evaluate" whenever you like. So if you test low at first because you're having an off day or because your not feeling well, you can always go back in and re-do the evaluation. Another thing I love is that it allows you to track your inches lost/weight lost and it does most of the work for you! It takes your measurements (roughly...it was wrong in a few places...but not "too" wrong) and lets you input your weight then it helps you track your progress.

What I DON'T LOVE: When watching the "preview" of the game it seems to have much better graphics, the graphic in the actual game play are no where near as good as the preview let on. Also, in the preview it made it seem as though two people could work out at the same time while tracking the progress of each person, that is NOT the case however, only one person can be tracked at a time and if you are "playing" a game with someone else, even if you are logged in, it will not track either of your calories burned. Another thing is the tracking of your body movements has issues sometimes...like "step wider" when you're already stepping as wide as humanly possible, or not tracking your hand properly when you KNOW you're moving it EXACTLY how you should be. I've found that the color and fit of your clothing play a big part in this though. For example, if you're wearing something similar to the color of your skin or the wall behind you, you have more trouble with the tracking...also anything baggy causes problems too. Wear snug fitting clothing that are in opposition to the wall/carpet/and your skin and you shouldn't have these problems as often. Also, I don't like the way the interface is set up where you have to select everything two or three times.

All things considered this is a GREAT game and I would recommend it especially if you are like me and find it easier to turn on the XBOX 360 and move with the Kinect than it is to get up and do the same old exercises day after day with DVD's or Fitness TV...and if you don't feel like "working out" one day, you can go into the games on there and still get a really good workout without really feeling like you're working out. All-in-all I think the game is a good value, there are some things I think could be improved on but still an excellent workout for us gamers :)

A Real Work Out

I bought this Fitness program because of the reviews I saw online.
This program is for people who seriously want to work out, the program has a qualifying program to see if you are fit enough to continue to work out with the program. To qualify wasn't that easy for me ,50 year old male that works full time and don't exercise at all. I do like the way the program knows what you are doing because it scans more of your body than the game programs and reads more points on your body ,such as knees ,elbows and hips.
This program will make you keep trying until it sees you do the right moves,or you don't get credit until you do it right.
I do recommend this for someone who is serious about exercising. The one thing to remember is that you have to want to do this ,the program want make you do the daily work out.

A Good Way To Get A Workout

I have used this for a while now. I really do suggest this as a good way to get a decent workout. It watches you and lets you know if you are performing the exercises correctly. I can really work up a sweat with the programs. There are several programs to follow and you even get rewards for reaching goals. You can increase the effectiveness of your workouts by adding hand weights. I would be careful with this though as an accidental toss of the weight through your TV screen would be a bad thing ;)

There is also added content that you can purchase to add variety to your workout. I have not purchased the added content and will not likely do so. I would prefer that the program be complete. And for me so far there is enough variety.

Con: The problem is that the responsiveness of the Kinect is not always all that great (but we all know this already) So it does not always register for the points tally. So if you get frustrated about not getting all your points know this might be an issue.

Perfect Energy, motivational game for unfit & fit people alike!

I got this game becase it is a great way to get me off the Sofa!!
The game offers a verry nice way to get fit again and lose some unwanted weight, not to mention this is perfect for smokers to regain there breathing back!!
I dislike the poor scan of image (self) as well as the fact you much use close to skin cloths for it to read your moves more corectly.
I would buy this product again as it is a great motivator for energy, all other sofa game (ones where you do not move, other than your thumbs).

Great way to get yourself in "shape" if you stick with it

The Fitness Shape program is defintely good for cardio and strength training. I am still fairly new to the XBOX 360 w/Kinect, but it always wants to start over and do the entire assessment test on my body each time I put the disc in. It does not seem to save it like some of my other games do. I do like the cardio boxing. As you complete each level it unlocks the next level of that particular game you had selected. I workout with a weight machine 5 days a week and walk 3 miles and thought this would be a good way to increase my cardio. The con that I have found with this game is that the personal trainer likes to do the same excercise quite a few times in a row. I like circuit training the best. Still learning the game, but it is defintely a good cardio and strength game if you stick with it.Read full review...

great for a fun workout.

I bought this along with UFC trainer.
This game is fun. you have many choices to pick from.
The tracking if pretty great. The trainer will tell you to move your hands, arms, leg up or down if your out of sync. Honestly i find my self chewing the game out at times because of this alone.

At times if your a "bigger" person like me the game wont be able to pick up some of the movements to well. so that nice Lunge or squat you just did perfectly just wont show right for the kinect.
I even had my kids doing a few side games and they had fun

Makes you get off your ass and do something!!

I just LOVE this!! This makes you feel like you have your own gym trainer! I bought this product so that I could start to exercise instead of just sitting there.

Likes: Makes you work, corrects your posture, has many games that I can even play with my 5 year old or 3 other people. IT also tracks your calories and the MS site has sometimes free extra games to download. This is the best game to really work at besides Dance Central.

Dislikes: I have to put the donuts and other junk food down and actually move off the couch, you can see and feel the difference in a couple of weeks, can be hard on your knees if you are not careful, makes you lose weight!!

Lose weight, gain muscle, exercise, & have fun, all for 1 Month $ at Gym!

My wife and I were looking for a game that combines exercise and fitness with entertainment. With our busy lifestyle, we don't have time to make it to a gym. And to exercise at home, we would need to have fun at the same time. Your Shape - Fitness Evolved is exactly what we've been looking for.
Our guests love competing in the gym games. My wife and I compete in burning calories, while we each have our own fitness plan.
Our goal is to use a Kinect game as our sole exercise program to lose weight. We'll document if Your Shape can do the job. So far, so good.
For this game, the Kinect Sensor would work best sitting at eye level. The sensor reads every part of your body and puts you right into the game. You'll be asked to input your dimensions and weight for better tracking of your movements and for the calorie tracker.
I would suggest wearing tighter clothing when using Your Shape. Otherwise, you would look a bit heavier than normal.
Due to the variety of movements and tracking for this game, you may need to move furniture out of your exercise box that would restrict you from completing certain exercises exactly as shown on the screen.
I have not tried the other Kinect games relating to exercise, however, those who exercise do not bounce around from gym to gym, either. They find a gym and a program and stick to it.
Your Shape is all my family needs to Evolve our Fitness program, lose weight, gain muscle, and have a fun time with friends. All for the cost of one month's gym membership. NICE!!!! You and your family will love it. I promise.

Close to a real thing!

Excellent work out lessons. This will be handy during the long mid-western winters.. I tried all the exercise but my favorite has to be Tai chi . It will have you sweating in mins. I did buy it used and safe around $15. I just could not justify spending $50 on the new one. I think these games are over priced but this one is well worth spending around $30-$40...............................................Read full review...

Awesome game!

I burned 500 calories the first night of playing on it!

I can't see myself breaking a sweat restricted to a Wii fitness board or while holding any foreign objects in my hand. This game seems to be a lot different from the competitors. Nothing in your hands to drop and real workouts from Women's Health and Men's Health magazines.

This game, using the Kinect sensor watches you like a hawk. Which makes it sound like it is going to scream at you for every little mistake, but it is for your own good to improve your workout. Their is no frustration when using the Kinect sensor. The Kinect sensor is accurate about 99% of the time and tracks much better than my experiences with the Wii. (losses 1% because you have to be near the center of the play space before exercises or you'll end up moving arms and legs out)

It is constantly watching your form during exercises and verbally telling you how to correct your form to get the most out of it. It even tells you what exercises you need to work on to correct your form and what exercises you have the best form in. It tracks calories burned over time and builds workout routines custom to your individual fitness goals.

It is the first exercise game I know of that a die hard fitness magazine will get behind and improve with their own input. Do you think any other consoles are going to have fitness industry backed games? Enough said...

(I don't consider "The Biggest Loser" in the fitness industry due to the fact that they are a TV show. Do you think they really want you off the couch and not watching their show?)

I'm in no way connected to Ubisoft or Microsoft. I'm actually a die hard FPS fan (MW2, BF:BC2, and soon Black Ops) who just wanted a little extra energy from an in home workout routine. Yes I could do this without the game, but the game makes sure I do the exercises right and doesn't let me cheat on them. I'm shooting for the 10,000 calorie burned achievement in the first month.
Wish me luck!
