Episodic Fun

This is game with a tight adventure story line, good graphics and interesting characters and relationships. There are plenty of first person shootouts and puzzles along the way. The game moves from mission to mission as it travels around the world to find the lost city of Shambala. It is not an open world like Far Cry or Grand Theft Auto, that can be explored between missions. While I enjoyed playing the game to its conclusion, I doubt I will repeat the experience unless I go back to it using the multiplayer mode for a new take on the game.Read full review...

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

I haven't yet played a game that I will rate excellent. To get that rating the game would have to be designed so well that I could not think of any improvements. So to clarify my rating Uncharted 2: Among Thieves as Good means that it one of the best games I have played and one that I recomend any adventure loving gamer to pick up.

Now to explain my reasons for my rating:

Pros:
1. Playing in Multiplayer is awesome. Best thing about the game.
2.Multi-tactic choices to complete each level. Character controls are advanced and the player can usually choose how he wants to take out the enemies whether it be form long range, short range, or up close in hand to hand combat.
3. Engaging story with a very entertaining main character. (at least for me)Games always have holes in their stories as does this one, but this one does engage the player to find out what is in the next chapter.

Cons:
1. Maps are a little to linear for my optimal enjoyment. I wish the maps were bigger with lots of areas and secret paths to explore as well as providing alternate paths to sneak up on enemies or avoiding them altogether if desired.
2. There are not enough maps in multiplayer without buying expansions.
3. I'm trying to think hard about my third con so I'm going to repeat con #1 at a different angle. The game plays more like a war game than an aventure game at times. There are a few areas of exploration and puzzle solving but majority of the game is trying to defeat the main villain's seemingly endless army of ruffians.

Still amazing.

This is a great game with such real images you'll think you can smell them sweat. It is more than the 1st one a shooter, as I though the problem solving aspect of this 2nd edition to be easier than the first. It's about an 8 hour playthrough and the online game is fun too but takes a while to get enough "perks" to be at all effective. In the meantime, those who have been there a while will chew you up without any problem.

I got this game about a year after it's official release for under $20 here on eBay and well worth that. Have a go at it, you won't be disappointed.

Great action adventure.

Great action adventure.
A main function in the game is blasting the bad guys but the overall storyline is not bound up in over the top blood guts and gore repeated on each level which is a welcome relief from many current game titles. The storyline is interesting, graphics are amazing and the way the programmers utilized plays on the physics engine makes for qutie an exceptional experience.
There is one scene in a blasted out old building where the hero and sidekick are being chased by a helicopter. The helicopter starts blasting the remains of the building which starts to tilt from one side to the other while, inside, the hero is fighting off several bad guys. The floor is tilting from side to side, you're trying to get the goons, not be shot by the helicopter outside and make it out safe as the building collapses. Much fun.
For the parents, I would give this one an NC-17 as opposed to the standard teen rating just for the amount of time spent in 'shooting' mode. Yes they have seen worse on TV and the violence is not over the top like some games present, but I wouldn't give this to a younger kid.
The only thing I dislike is being stuck on a linear path through the story. Side missions are fun and allow for a break. Would have been intersting to have some side-plots where the player could upgrade the hero while progressing through the story.
Online play is a carbon copy of hundreds of other shoot 'em up titles, nothing new there. If you've played one you've played them all. Again, the programmers did such an interesting job with this game, I would have loved to have seen a new take with the online environment to acually have players work as a team to meet a goal rather than blast everyone on the other team until the timer expires.
Overall, this is a good game and definitely worth checking out.

Perfect Quality

Item was in perfect quality - completely new.

Awesome game too.

IGN Review:
Trying to remain as spoiler-free as possible, I'll just say that the story starts off about a year or so after the events of the first game and begins with Nate and a few fellow thieves working on finding Marco Polo's lost treasure fleet. Of course, things aren't quite that simple and the cast winds up going on a much grander adventure, one that takes them half-way around the world.

That's about as far as I want to go with the storyline, though some of the trailers out there actually reveal a little more than that. The important part here though is that this game doesn't just take place on a single island and instead changes locales a handful of times over the course of the adventure. The result is that the pacing feels better and faster, and even though you're technically doing the same sort of shooting, climbing and puzzle solving throughout the game, the different ways the scenes are presented gives Among Thieves a greater sense of gameplay variety than the original.

The great storytelling extends to the character development, which has been turned up a good notch or two. Almost everyone with more than two lines of dialogue has an interesting reason for doing what they're doing (though the main bad guy is just bad), and the way that everyone interacts with one another is realistic and interesting. Almost every character is unpredictable in some way, but not in a forced or unnatural manner.

The story itself twists and turns throughout the course of the game, as you might expect, and for the most part it's a solid tale. Nate and his pals go through a lot, so it does a good job of reeling you in and keeping you hooked until the end.

While I'd say the story is quite good overall, I wouldn't say that it's perfect. Without giving anything away, while most of the story has solid footing in real-world lore and legend, it does start to veer away from this at some point in a way that could have been handled better. Still, it's told very, very well through the use of fantastic cutscenes and acting, and will keep you guessing at what'll happen until the very end.

Thanks!

Absolutely fantastic!

From the very start, the storyline and gameplay are not only compelling, but just flat out jaw dropping! Hands down one of, if not the best game I've ever played overall.

By far one of the best games I've ever played !

Game Description :

The lure of history's greatest treasure proves too great to resist as Nathan Drake returns to chase another fortune in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Chase the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the truth behind the mysterious Himalayan Shambhala Valley as Drake gets pushed to his mental and physical limits. Meet an expanded cast of characters - some shady, some not - headlined by Chloe Frazier, Drake's partner and new romantic interest. Battle enemies your way, using pure brute force or stealth maneuvers. And if the action doesn't grab you, the game's cinematic presentation and emotive character expressions will.

My Review :

‎" Why waste time searching for flaw in a game when they just don't exist ! By far one of the best games I've ever played along with God of War III. Beautiful graphics, Sizzling story line, and Awesome controls. Very please with Naughty Dog as they have done it yet again. Without a doubt... I give it a well deserved 5 stars. "

Anyone who owns a PS3 should get this, highly recommended! Game of the year

I'm sure if you're reading this you've already read countless other reviews praising the game for it's superb voice acting, mind blowing graphics, wonderful story telling, and it's riveting gameplay. I'm only writing this to enforce all of these things and hopefully tip you over the fence into buying this game immediately. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves contains almost every element that was in the first and improves upon it. For those of you who haven't played the first game it is essentially Gears of War meets Tomb Raider + Awesomeness all rolled into one. For those of you who did play Uncharted: Drake's Fortune you're all too aware of how short the first game was and I'm pleased to tell you that this game is substantially worth it. Not only does it last about 3-4 hours longer buy it features something to do when you're done, multiplayer. The multiplayer is essentially what you'd expect from Call of Duty 4 with and a 3rd person twist and several unique modes to shake up the formula. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is like buying a three entree plate from Panda Express. It leaves you completely full and satisfied and although you'd happily enjoy another serving of Orange Chicken you can leave the restaurant knowing you got what you paid for. Buy this game and enjoy it because although it's built upon the qualities of other games, there's really nothing out there quite like it.Read full review...

One of the best gaming experiences of my life

From the very first moment, to the closing credits, I was riveted. Unbelievable cinematic flair, amazing storytelling, incredible locales, astonishing immersion, really fun gameplay, intelligent enemies, great voice acting, adds some fun and unexpected gameplay elements here and there. What else is there? OK, here's one thing I would like: for the game to never end!

I really liked the first game, except for the zombie part. I was very happy to NOT see their return in this game.

For me, this is as close to gaming perfection as you can get.

Not all games are for everyone, so just to put things in perspective, I tend to like RPGs the most (KOTOR, Mass Effect) but also really loved the earlier Splinter Cell games and enjoy the occasional FPS and TPS.

I think I would have a hard time finding anyone who is even remotely interested in games to NOT like Uncharted 2.

This one of the best games of 2009

More than any other game to date, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune seems to define the PlayStation 3. Naughty Dog's 2007 jungle romp starring the one and only Nathan Drake gave gamers a taste of what it would be like to play as an acrobatically-inclined Indiana Jones. With stunning visuals (that still rank amongst the best in gaming today), a fantastically told story, great puzzles and high-octane gunplay, it's easily one of the best titles of this console generation.

Now Naughty Dog returns to the spotlight with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Both expectedly and amazingly, Naughty Dog has indeed bested Nate's first adventure and has created a sequel that is not only bigger and better in practically every way, but also packs a multiplayer component that could be released as its own separate, full-priced game and people would stand in line to hand over their cash.

Yes, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is fantastic.
played it once and got hooked by it, it is a must have game.
