Total War: Shogun 2 is unlike any other RTS out there and is worth a look @

Total War: Shogun 2 is an excellent, in depth game with many features both online and offline. I bought this product because I am an RTS freak, I love the RTS genre to a fault, and while this isn't what most people would consider a normal RTS, it is exactly for that reason that I love it.
While Shogun 2's campaign is a hour eating adventure that keeps you trying to balance you military exploits with you civic development and your people's happiness (Which is fun in itself), its real allure comes from its battles. These battles at first might seem bland, until you experience what a devestating effect a calvary charge has on an enemies morale or what a few well placed volley or arrows can do to change the tide of battle. Unlike traditional RTS games instead of fighting with a few units with health battling it out, in Shogun 2 a "unit" is a group of soldiers that act as one (e.g. you give the group a command and can't control single units individually). What brings even more fun ( and sometimes frustration) is that your units do not rely so much on health as they do on "morale". When a unit has low morale they have reduced fighting abilties and may route from the battlefield even if you have superior numbers.
While it is unlike traditional RTS games, this is precisely why I like it so much. Even though building structures and training units can be fun, sometimes it is fun to just have to focus on the fighting aspect, and micromanagement of units, rather than having to jump back and forth between economy and fighting in real time. Shogun 2 gives you both ( in the campaign) but both seperately to give each its own individual flavor and allowing for more thought in both.

Complete Edition

Easy to install and has all the things I wanted for Shogun 2. I have never played a Total War game but was very interested. After some research I found this was a great one to start with but still has a lot to work. It'll take a little time for me to really develop some strategy for conquering japan but i cant wait to put the time in. Picking from so many clans makes it easy to have a different experience every time i play. I loved Age of Empires growing up and this is AOE on overdrive.Read full review...

Love strategy games? Then BUY IT!

Total War: Shogun 2 is one of the best strategy games that I've played. It is not composed of only directing troops to win the battle but it also involves thinking and logic in order to prevail in the war. Each clan has its unique strengths which when used efficiently it will turn the tide of battle. For example, the Hattori have superior ninjas. They have more "training" than other clan's ninjas. They can assassinate and sabotage with more success rate than other ninjas.

I really love it! Also buy the Ikko Ikki DLC its worth it! :)

Total War Killer

Killer game. if you like history you'll love this one. this is a turn based game "solo" and in the internet "group" play.

You can customize just about every thing with the internet play. but the solo is more confined, but still way cool. the graphics will rock your world if you have the video card for it.

The one I won on e-bay was a down load only. so if you do not have broad band made sure you bid on CD-rom format. Took me for ever too down load. And yes we live in the sticks. The steam link can be a bit tricky but the support guys will work with you till heck freezes over. If it will run on my old junker it should rock on a newer machine.

This is not one too miss.
latter guys gotta go clean my Katana!

If you like total war then buy it.

This game is very fun but only for a short while. It is an improvement on the napoleon and empire total wars. I don't know about you, but I prefer to see my units hacking and slashing at each other. The single player is fun and begins rather easy, but after you capture a specific amount of territories the difficult ramps up greatly and you will soon find yourself surrounded by enemies.Read full review...

Great game

Very addictive and fun game but our rig has to me excellent.

I got very into it and then all of a sudden it would freeze on me but luckily there was a auto save feature.

Game play confusing at first but after you get a hang of it it's amazing.

P.S. Still have never learned how to play the multiplyer domination, looks kinda confusing

Great simulation, fun with friends and intense gameplay ! A+

Great game. The graphic are incredible, the whole gaming experience mind-blowing. I seriously have to calm down and think of my next move for several minutes before ending my turn. The co-op experience is a lot of fun. Japan feodal times are not something I studied or anything but I pretty much felt like it was taught to me through this game. The integration of concepts such as honour and loyalty and how we interact with most of all aspects of Japan culture made it seem like I was really living in this era for every hour I spent on the game. I'm only a casual gamer but I don't regret all the time and money spent on this marvelous simulation. I have yet to master this game and I am looking to another couple of hours of entertainment. I am definitely getting the expansions !Read full review...

Best RPG EVER

Shogunt Total War is simply one of the best RPG games of the year. To those who have played before TOTAL WAR games, know that this is the best Total War game yet. Many of the best rating game websites put the game with a score of 9/10. Of course, as it is a big game, it is also a gigantic installation. It will take almost 15gb form your hard disk, but believe me. Every megabyte is worthwhileRead full review...
