quality item for price great for some not for others

pro's: the actual receiver seems to be a very good quality, and sounds very very good. 3 hdmi in and 1 out. cons: only 1 anolog out, makes switching to hd then back to anolog a bit of a pain in the butt, because you need to keep about 3 remotes at your side, due to not all channels being hd, and a regular picture does not look so good on the hd video input and also the picture size is screwed up. takes a few seconds to power on after hitting power button. cluttered remote hard to read in dim lighting. not the prettiest receiver out there but very good,probably excellent for a guy that all his entertainment appliances are hdmi.Read full review...

Sony STR DG810

I bought this receiver to replace an older one. I trusted Sony and, so far have not been disappointed. I picked this unit based on reviews and also the fact that it had 3 HDMI inputs (my TV only has 1). The great thing is that it is NOT pass-thru, meaning that I get both video AND audio through the HDMI. I have not yet used the microphone to set the speakers but, the sound is good right out of the box. All in all, I like this unit....have had it about 2 weeks nowRead full review...

Fantastic customer service with quality Sony product.

I was initially doubting myself if I can ever make this receiver work and if I can ever follow Sony multi buttons functions and ever do various connections as shown in the manual. I was in the brink of frustration for the first few days because I can't seem to make it work. It's been a long time since the last time I setup home stereo system more so with Satellite receiver and with my new Samsung HDTV.
I contacted the seller and with his encouraging suggestions, I begin to figure out how to properly tackle this challenge.
I called Sony Customer support who gladly walked me through the whole process. We tried several hookups and made me aware of the various section of the operating manual. It took us more than three hours over the phone until we finally get the system work.
It was such a good feeling to have overcome this challenge. My set of Quintet Klipsch speakers and 10" Klipsch subwoofer came alive.
This Sony STR-DG810 Receiver brings out the beautiful sound that I longed to hear from a real home theater system.
The sound was great both im listening to music and in watching my favorite movies.
I will certainly recommend this audio equipment giving it an A+ for performance.Read full review...

simple and fantastic receiver

In bad shape

Great product at a grat price

Very good, with 2 optical imputs allow me to have my ps3 and sound from cable box to the same source and is just great.

I had a older model of that receiver which I think was a better and easyer to operate, but I had to get this one because Sony no longer makes 6.1 channel with HDMI.
