Sonic Strikes Again!

While our favorite blue hedgehog's had a bumpy road in his lineup of games, this game is definitely one of the better ones. Does the game feel rushed? Yes, a little bit. Are there some bugs here and there? Yes, but it does not ruin the experience of zooming around 3D environments while listening to above-average Sonic music! A great buy in my book, seriously!Read full review...

A Revolutionary Sonic Game

Sonic Adventure was a revolutionary title when it came out in 1998. It was the first 3d entry in the main Sonic series and was a launch title for Sega's last console The Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure is still seen as a revolutionary title in the Sonic series, but unfortunately I didn't have a great experience with it. The game starts out moderately fast but then becomes slow almost immediately after that. Not to say that this game is boring, but it looses a lot of traction after the first stage. Sonic Adventure

A classic Sonic Team game. It is short and was rushed I thought back in 1999 when it was first released. It has many small glitches and is hard to get used to at first. None the less it but has a bit of a retro feel and works with the VMU memory cards. The Memory cards work with mini game that is like a Digimon though they can be extracted from both DC and VMU. They can race in an 8 player chao race while entering back into your memory card to take with you.

The game is lots of fun and interested though very short. A dreamcast classic. Graphically maybe a loss when you see sonic adventure 2 but that game lacks part of the exploring feature that is included in this game. Play as 6 different characters but really I only found sonic and Tails levels to be the most fun. there is a emblem goal list multiple ways to complete a level and earn secrets to keep you occupied but the end game happens fast.

9/10

Sonic + Dreamcast + RPG = Great game

Rating 8.5 out of 10 stars

Back at September 1999 (December 1998 for Japan), Sonic Adventure came out. As a launch title for the Sega Dreamcast, the game sold obviously well and was very well received. This is with no doubt one of blue hedgehog's finest and greatest games. The gameplay is solid for each character (except for Big the Cat), the stage designing it's great, the soundtrack is cool (the first rock soundtrack in the Sonic entries), and it possesses one big innovation: the Chao creatures. But why it's four stars and not 5? That's because of: the graphics (I understand that this game is old, but Sega could have easily handled better graphics), Big the Cat (real annoying to play with this character) and also lacks an extra like the mission mode in Sonic Adventure DX. Anyway this game will always remain as one of the greatest titles for the Dreamcast and it's definitely a must-have if you own the console. Also, a port for the GameCube was made which in my opinion it's better (except for the lack of the VMU and the Chao gardens).Read full review...

Sonic Adventure Limited Edition

Sonic Adventure moved the series into the 3D realm (not counting Sonic R, sinch it was a racing game); This game for its flaws, (mainly the camera and control at times), is a fast and fun adventure game. Featuring series' favorites such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and a bunch of new characters you won't really remember, excluding the robot you can play as, its story was pretty cool. This game as slick and fast graphics even by today's standards, and the voicework isnt all that bad. (Okay, it is.) If you're wondering what makes the 'Limited Edition' so special, it was a Hollywood Video exclusive; It was available for rental only, 2 months before the system officially launched on 9/9/99. Sega used this to boost possible sales for the game and its ill-fated system. Also, a combimed total of 400 disc only copies were shipped to Funcoland and other game stores for use with their Dreacmast kiosks. If this game follows the tread of other rental only games,( Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak for NES) now is definitely the time to buy. Especially with different sources claimed this as the rarest US released Dreamcast game, and one of the rarest overall. Look for its price to skyrocket over the coming years.Read full review...

sonic the hedgehog

sonic the hedgehog was the first original sonic title for sega in many years.the genesis collection was the last time we saw are hedgehog buddy in
action.i must say sonic for the dreamcast is a good game it was released as
a lauch game back in september of 99.i personally was skeptical of sega doing
a sonic game in 3d but i thought it worked out just fine.sonic has a new homing
attack and also still has his trademark spin dash.the difference between the
genesis and dreamcast is sonic is in full 3d whereas the genesis version were side scrolling action platformers.i recommend this game to any sonic fan who is open minded and not compare this sonic to the classic genesis games.the
game is nowhere near as good as those games, but thats not to say its a bad
game. i judge this game as a 3d platfomer and is the best in that category.

BUY THIS GAME FOR DREAMCAST BECAUSE ITS THE BEST VERSION!!!!!!

Best Sonic Adventure out there

this game IS THE BEST 3D SONIC GAME you can purchase. I realize it's from 1999 but there simply hasn't been many good Sonic games since then. Even Sonic Adventure 2 cannot compare to this game.
>The only reason I must give it 4/5 instead of 5/5 is:
#1. Lack of bosses - Every level should have a different Robotnik creation as a boss BUT you will not find that here.
#2. Camera can be frustrating during certain jumps.
#3. Not enough moments where Sonic's blazing speed can be displayed.

Those issues become minor issues because it's so darn fun. Especially when you can play as Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, etc. They all have different stories. Great game.Read full review...

Sonic Adventure Dreamcast

One of the best Sonic Games ever and one of the better Dreamcast games. Graphics still look great for a game that’s over 20 years old. Game play hasn’t aged well but is still playable if you don’t mind clunky camera controls. Recommend this game for anyone that still has a Dreamcast around.Read full review...

Amazing game, any dreamcast collector should have this

Looking back on this game that i played almost 12 years ago and long since regretted selling is this game Sonic Adventure for the dreamcast

The tells the story of Sonic the hedgehog and his continuing quest to stop Doctor Robotnik from taking over the world or angel island.

The game is set after sonic the hedgehog 3 and sonic and knuckles, how long is a question to me as well. Sonic is relaxing by the pool and trying to take time off. He is surprised to see his friend Miles Prower, which he calls Tails, in an out of control airplane that is going to crash.

After saving Tails he follows Tails to his workshop outside of town where the 2 of them run into Doctor Robotnik and wonder what kind of trouble he is going to be brewing this time.

After giving Robotnik a butt whooping, Robotnik takes the Chaos emerald (item of ultimate power used in previous games) that Tails had on hand to test out a new power system in his new plane that he just crashed.

Sonic is surprised that Robotnik summons a monster that he saw a few days prior that was causing trouble in town. Robotnik then feeds the monster the Chaos Emerald and calls the monster Chaos the God of Destruction and it has the power to destroy everything when he has all of the Chaos Emeralds consumed.

Sonic and Tails set out a quest to stop Robotnik from getting all of the Chaos Emeralds to make Chaos go into his perfect form.

The game has good voice acting for the most part even though the Voice Actor of Sonic could have done better with some things. The game has an excellent musical score of rock music that has been recorded for this game. And the graphics for the game are good for the dreamcast. The game as well has a good story line and is good for any dreamcast collector.

All and all i will give this game 5 stars.

Graphics- 5 stars (good for time period)
Score- 5 stars (love the rock music)
Story- 5 stars (love the different scenes)
Character Development- 4 stars (for newer players of sonic games they will get confused)
Voice Acting- 4 stars (some of the Voice Actors/Actresses didn't portray different emotions or reactions correctly)

A classic must have for the Sega Dreamcast!

While technically not the first Sonic game to step out of the 2D sidescrolling platformer roots, Sonic Adventure marks the beginning of the 3D Sonic games that have over the years been largely hit or miss titles - this one is definitely a hit. The gameplay and story are both compelling and, while certain aspects of the game have aged better than others, it remains a fantastic classic for the Dreamcast.Read full review...
