BACK IN THE DAY GAME PLAY

Boy this game really takes me back to time when the first RE game came out. There was nothing else like it out at the time. You could slip the disk into your PS1, turn off the lights and prepare to be scared shitless. I think I'm going to try and get all of the games in the series on my PS3 and play them all before I go out and get a PS4. I still have all of my previous systems and their games but it will be nice to see them with up to date graphics.Read full review...

Not the resident evil I know

I grew up playing the original RE. On the original ps. So, I was excited to see a newer, better graphics system taking this name and making another scare your pants off game again...
But alas, I don't understand why so many companies don't follow the old" if ain't broke, don't fix it" saying?!
They went a whole different direction with this heap. It's absolutely nothing like a RE game. You're on a team kind of like splinter cell game. The concept confused me.
The controls are horrible, your team sucks, they don't help. And when do the freaken zombies come ?

When I navigate through the forums of the various new resident evils see always the same, as resident evil because it is not what was that now is one such, a which bla bla bla bla bla bla. To my I like resident evil 3 or 4 years and I always liked their games books, comics and movies.I make this theme because I already can't stand that they criticise both resident evil if it is a spectacular and made game with a good vibe, the plot, characters...The truth is that capcom opts for the action rather than the terror of the first residents but that does not mean that it does not have to molar, capcom makes it to sell, because nowadays the action sells. Previously had many residents, silents hills... and now if you give has what it takes is call of duty and battlefield or other sagas shooter, that is why capcom has changed reisdent and given a touch of action. Very buggy, you will lose interest on half way

The example of capcom's agressive marketing policy. The game itself has lots of bugs, gameplay is good but plot will cause vomit to fan of series. As a fan of series i'll give 2/5 score - 0/5 for plot and 4/5 for gameplay.
Also more than half of missions should be downloaded from Xbox Live/PSN so you will need to spend nearly the same amount of money for downloadable content.
The limited edition itself is poor - its nothing against japanese limited edition and its amazing contents. Also cartoon wrap for steelbook done cheaply - it will be damaged quickly even if you are the one of people who know how to play games and keep them in mint condition same time.
The programming script for enemies is so bad that in example of Tyrant in "Redemption" mission you will see absolute BS especially when he make glitch-return
to the edge of platform to make his scream.
So there is nothing strange that IGN and others gave low rates for this game.
The replayability of game is 0 - you will lose your interest in the middle of game.
The game offers very limited number of enemy types - even Resident Evil 2 in 1998 had more enemy types.
If you are not a fan of Resident Evil series - just don't buy this crap.
It has good sales only because its titled as "Resident Evil".Read full review...

Good game to kill zombies with your friends.

Resident Evil is not like the normal resident evil games but people don't give the game enough credit. Its a very fun game to play with your friends ( up to 4 online). You get to be the bad guy for once, a lot of zombies and "boss" fights. I played the story a couple of times, since you have the choice of 4 different persons, you can upgrade they special abilities and try them all out. The only thing I do not like about the game is the online playing. It got boring for me after a couple of tries. I say if you are a resident evil fan, why not have this one in the colection, if you aren't, give it a try, you may like it.Read full review...

Awesome graphics but not the RE type of game we are used to.

As a huge fan of the Resident Evil saga I must say this game has a bittersweet taste.

As a happy trigger guy believe me you are gonna love it. As a Resident evil fan you expected a LOT more.>
Nice graphics, Cool story line and lots and lots of zombies that we missed so much since RE3 (The best one of the saga...personally). I hate the control mode its hard to run without crouching unnecessarily and the aiming is really bad, its really hard to have a nice head-shot even using the snipping rifle.

A super short game you can beat it within 6 hours. Since you have no riddles nor so you have the classic RE suspense.

Fun Experience

This game, was MADE for multiplayer!! Must HAVE a MIC, for the full on experience!! Play with your friends on campaign, and especially the versus games!! Heroes is by far, my favorite!! They had a lot of glitches,when the game was released March 20 2012, but patched up most of them. New maps, and weapons cache are available through the Playstation store DLC, add ons for ORC. New spec ops missions, and BIGGER maps!! Use your player experience points to upgrade your weapons, and abilities-each character has a different one! Versus- Heroes, you can be Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Ada Wong, HUNK, Lone Wolf, or Nicoli. Find the special weapons boxes, help your teammates, kill zombies, hunters, and your opponents-(other team)Hours of fun!! Me and my friends never get tired of playing this game!! It's still Resident Evil, excellent multiplayer game, going back to where it all started, 1998, Raccoon City. Find the hidden typewriters (3) shoot the cameras, and in campaign, as Wolfpack...kill anything that moves!! Zombies, Lickers, Tyarants, Hunters, Nemesis!! EPIC!! You may have to kill your zombified friend coming after you, but you can always revive them! Use your health sprays and antiviral sprays together when needed. Great multiplayer game! Not your standard RE but a great game!

Fans of the series may be looking for another zombie horror game to add to the collection, this is not it. It is however an adrenaline pumping zombie slaying 3rd person shooter! I LOVE this game! You are part of 4 person squad hired by Umbrella to eliminate any evidence of their involvement in the Raccoon City Incident.
The campaign is pretty short (about 6 hours) but I’m playing through again with a different squad on hard mode. Playing co-op online is awesome!! The missions have a grading system like devil may cry It rates your performance on # of kills # of deaths, evidence collected, and time completed. The higher grade the more XP you earn which can be used to unlock weapons and character abilities.
Each of the 6 playable characters has a handful of abilities to choose from (incendiary rounds, land mines, stealth, induce infection, etc). The weapon selection is really nice in this game too especially compared to the rest of the series. I would recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of 3rd person shooters. It a pretty fun game. Great multiple player. New take on RE.

This game is a blast to play especially if you play online co-op. The online multiple player is also fun as hell. Although there is a few problems with it such as horrible A.I.(that why I recommend play online co-op), and the setting of game is dark most of the time which could be a good thing depend on what you like. There are some bugs and glitches here and there but a few patches can solve that issue, many new games get ton of bugs(i.e. Dead Island). Ammo do run out pretty quick which can be a problem like other reviewer said but you can find plenty of ammo around, if not you can just pick up another weapon from dead soldiers. I play the classic RE game such as 2, 3, and a little bit of 4 and to be honest i enjoy this game as well. It a new take on RE and it quite enjoyable.
