APA text Great Support
This book is for those who do higher educational writing. I find it a little overwhelming with the exact explanation of how the APA demands their writing structure. The tabs are good guide labels for easy access to finding the section that is needed to apply the information needed in the course of writing a paper in APA format. With all this in mind APA publications manual is well written, and I love the easy tabs to find specific locations of the text.
This book is a guide to finding writings skills, but I find it more useful to look at direct guidelines that I can see. I am a more hands on person, and this book illustrates the ideas that are needed in producing a well written publication. I would consider the text for a class, but I would prefer the instruction have more visuals for people that need visionary instruction.Read full review...
A Must for College/Graduate Students
Let me start by admitting that I hate the APA style. It is not as easy to use as the MLA style. Most professors are perfectly happy with the MLA style. However, eventually you'll run into some type "A" professor, who'll insist on your using the APA style. Don't bother arguing with them, just buy the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. While not as easy to use as the MLA manual, it's clear enough to get you through the course with a good grade on your research paper.Read full review...

This book was required by a class I am taking at the graduate level. It is informative, well-written and helpful. I have had to learn to use the index, however, as it seems like the information I need is not readily accessible from the index. For example, looking up how to cite references in a text is found is several different places and time consuming. I do feel that any information you could possibly need is in this book; you just have to dig a bit to get to it.Read full review...
Good Reference Book
This book is necessary in a Master's Degree Program. Quite honestly, it is faster looking the info up online, but the book is going to be your best source for reference citations, etc. Now, if you could sell the time it takes to read the book and master the APA style, rather than constructing papers, that would be great.
This is a great gift idea for a college or graduate student.

This book covers psychology and behavioral sciences. Most online sources have been updated with electronic guidelines and examples. Submitting papers electronically, word processing software, case study presentation, construction of tables and lots more to read about inside this 5th edition copy.
439 pages inside book will help many educators, students, economics, nursing, social work in a functional fundamental. Book has 5 ***** rating from what I learned and read. I'm an author and publisher, I learned easy access plus writer guidelines.
Coauthors are plain script inside this book, sample letters & submitting articles, establishing written agreements. That's why title of book is called Publication Manual. I highly recommend book to anyone who is in need.

The APA style manual is easy to use and gives the necessary guidance for submitting research papers and projects in this format instead of the MLA style. I bought this manual as a recommended text for nursing school. Anyone who is writing an article, paper, or a review should have this book. It is a compilation of every type of publication and how to properly site it. With the rules for plagiarism becoming more and more strict throughout the nation's school systems it is imperative to give credit for each and every source of information used when researching a topic.
The book is easy to use and informative.

What can you say.... other than it is what it is. This is a perfect example of why our educational system and our government is going down the drain. They couldn't possibly make writing a paper any more complicated or frustrating. Why doesn't anyone consider making a format that can fit on to one page instead of 750? How complicated does this really need to be.
Considering how much of nightmare the entire process is and how it is mandatory for every grad student and most everyone else now...I guess that if you have to play by these insane rules you might as well have the definitive rulebook...this certainly is that.
Sooo... I guess I have to say that this is the best guide that there is for writing papers. I can assure you, however, that as soon as I am finished with this class I am going to BURN this darn thing! It might make me feel a little better for the migraines that it has given me!Read full review...
Publication
If you need to prepare manuscripts in APA style and don't have a previous edition of the manual, then you need this book. Though it remains relatively user-unfriendly, it is nonetheless the bible of manuscript preparation.
If you already have the fourth edition... determine how many of the changes in the fifth edition apply to your work. If you mostly write "plain vanilla" research reports and your reference lists mostly consist of ordinary journal articles, you may be able to get by with some handwritten notes in the margins of your old book.Read full review...
APA Manual
This APA manual can in handy for papers required to be in APA format. Some classmates chose to use the software, but you need to know the basics of APA to use the software. I didn't use anything but this book for my papers. I found it easy to use and reference.
