Polaris 360 F!

Replacement pool sweep for inground pool. Last one lasted close to ten years, hopefully this one does the same or better. Pool has always used Polaris 360 from day 1 some 30 years ago. Typical replacement items such as hoses, debris bag, wheel cover, tail scrubbers, swivels etc to keep unit running. Polaris seems to be using cheaper plastic material over the year. Mostly likely China out sourcing. Parts are readily available, but a bit pricing. Not as reliable as older units from years ago!Read full review...

Awesome Pool Vac

I have tried various pool vacs; all were weak in some way. After finding the Polaris 360 at this price ($350), I couldn't not try it. It works out of the box with a single dedicated return. My pool had 2 additional returns, so I had to get the Zodiac Polaris Pool Cleaner Eyeball Fitting Connection Kit: 9-100-8001. After installing the kit (only needed one to service both additional returns), the Polaris is working perfectly. My pool was never cleaner, and I don't have to babysit this vacuum; it covers the entire pool (20 x 40), including the walls. I am optimistic that this will be the last vacuum I have to buy. Note that water may leak from some of the hose joints, but that is not a problem.Read full review...

Works well, lot of moving parts to wear out.

The Polaris 360 works well although the cost of ownership is high compared to the Jandy Rayvac I had previously. The unit stays in the pool and operates about 5 hours a day. I had two of the Rayvac units from 1998 to 2014, this is my second Polaris 360, which is replacing the unit I bought in 2014. I have rebuilt the 360 unit twice and replaced a couple of the wheel bearings again as well as replaced the hose (splits easily) and swivels since its installation in 2014, never had to replace hose components on the Rayvac. The bag with the Velcro opening is difficult to get debris out of, I have been purchasing the bag with the zipper which seems easier to clean. I am happy with the Polaris 360 and it works well. Also it is easy to see how much has been collected which could not be seen in the Rayvac. Read full review...

In good working condition

I probably should have done more research as this rover is probably too small for my pool. I should have bought a larger model because the amount of tree clippings that I have this time of year are higher than normal and the bag is filling too quickly. That being said the rover works perfectly and was easy to install. It came in 2 days which was faster than anticipated and was in great condition.Read full review...

Best value of almost anything I have ever bought!!

When I bought my current house with an inground pool 15 years ago, the previous owner left the Polaris 360 with me. At the time I had never owned a pool, let alone done any maintenance on one. At first I would hook it up and let it run for a couple of hours, remove it, and then do that again 3-5 days later. Well, being as i'm naturally lazy, that soon turned into just leaving it hooked up all the time. I worried somewhat that this would wear it out quickly. What I found out, is yes, it will wear out the bag once per year, the hose assembly every other year, and the bearings about every 3 years. For me, to do ZERO pool maintenance this is a small price to pay. For others, simply unhooking it when your done, will probably turn the cleaner maintenance in half I would estimate.

At the beginning of the swim season, I pull the cover off the pool, hook up this cleaner and let it just go. The only thing I have to do, is after 3-5 days of the initial running, is to go through and clean the walls above water level by hand. I never do anything else the rest of the season. I never even turn off the pump to clean the bag. Just un-attach it while running, empty it, and re-attach it while still running.

So I've owned it 15 years and it was used when I got it, so I'm not sure how old it really is. But obviously this thing has lasted a long time. As my original title says, the best value for the money of anything I have ever owned. It gets the highest possible rating I could give. In a time when expectations of quality are longevity are at a low, this product restores my faith in a company. Thanks Polaris!!

If your wondering, I bought this second one, because it had been an in-store demo unit and the guy thought it was broken. So I got a steal and what he thought was broken took 5 minutes to fix and I have a brand new unit for way less that 1/2 price of new. I bought it thinking that I would use it for parts in a worse case scenario, instead I have a brand new cleaner that I don't really need, as I would hate to scavenge parts from it. I may resell it and make a buck and just keep the old one another 10 years or so!

Be Aware of what they do not tell you

It got off to a really bumpy start as i am new to pool ownership i was not aware that this would not attach to my older pools outlet jets. So after many attempts of getting someone to plumb in an alternative hook up for the Polaris, I ended up doing it myself. Then i discovered that the Polaris way of measuring hose length vs reality was way off, waited several more days for 2 extra pieces of hose to show up. Now the Polaris cleans pool great despite getting hung up on steps it works well. I however do not like Polaris hose connections as they leak really bad. A very big drawback if you are forced to plumb n an alternative hook up,Read full review...

If you're used to a SmartVac, this will work for you

Here's the deal. The very best pressure vac was the Jandy SmartVac. Why they don't make them or a similar item I do not know...but we're relegated to a choice of three different cleaners that don't require a booster box. This cleaner does a good job, but the design is pretty sucky. Why with this colostomy bag I'll never know. And Velcro? Are you kidding me? All the sticks, bugs, crap from the pool gets stuck to the Velcro. I told my husband that the engineer who invented this should get a swift kick to the jewels...but since this is the only thing available along with some equally crappy designs, well you don't have much of a choice. I'd recommend it to a friend only because some smart designer hasn't figured out a way to provide a DECENT pressure activated pool cleaner. Come up with that and you'll be a rich MF.Read full review...

Pool robot

This thing is awesome! I used to spend hours vacuuming my pool with my pool robot that does it for me, I highly recommend it to anybody. Listing says remanufactured but it is obviously brand new. Will buy again if I have to. It should last as long as my new liner.Read full review...

Polaris 360 much better than RayVac.

Bought this product to replace a Jandy RayVac that had become troublesome in recent months. As a side note Zodiac purchased Polaris and Jandy, they have discontinued the RayVac. The Polaris 360 is a direct replacement. The unit has been in the pool about a month. Very pleased with performance. It performs much better than the RayVac as far as covering the entire pool. I have a deep end of 8 feet and shallow end of 3.5 feet. RayVac had trouble climbing out of deep end and spent a lot of time circling. Polaris has not demonstrated this problem. Following the installation manual it was an easy install. Plug and Play.Read full review...

Great Cleaner

This is my third one. It does a great job and lasts a long time. The last one worked great for 7 years, the one prior went for 9. There comes a point when it is time to start over and not be “parted” to death. The head unit is quite easy to access and repairing the unit is something a DIY person can handle. Be prepared to spend money on hoses because they rupture from time to time. This is a pressure side cleaner.Read full review...
