Ping i15 Driver

This club is one of the most solid Drivers on the market today. The set up is clean given the all black appearance and shape of head. The sound (when hit) is pleasing with the feel of the hit being transferred to hands smooth and unyielding.
The weakest point of the i15 Driver is it internal “fade bias” that Ping has built into the club. Keeping with the life long tradition of Ping’s “fade” shot pattern, therefore giving it a negative mark. The "other" Driver by Ping, the G15 is supposed to solve that problem however; you don’t have the same clean looks as the i15. Marketing in my opinion yet keeping with their core value....fade the ball.

best drives of your life (just not all the time)

If you want a boring ball flight and play a lot in the wind this is a great club. I bought the 8 degree loft with s ust shaft, because you can tee it up high if you want a higher launch angle and it sets out on a great trajectory. It really works well if you load up the shaft with lag, then rip through it, and I found some drives 40 yards longer than I had been hitting it. It responds to the modern version of the golf swing though, and a late release works best if you want max distance. I've been doing squats and increasing bench press weights to increase swing speed and the results were noticeable. In other words, you'll find landing areas that set up holes much better. This is the real deal with the low spin off the face, I never found that with my Callaway IQ. The difficulty is if you're off timing you may suffer "the rights" or, in my case, this weird quick snap hook which can destroy your score in a hurry. This club though is a great teacher and if your patient with it, especially at the top of your backswing, you'll hit the best drives of your life. You get this buttery feel that's hard to match when you nail it; higher on the face gives you a more glassy feel but some of my best strikes have had this feeling. There's a fade bias which sets up workability.Read full review...

Best I have ever hit period.

I am 58 years old, 5 handicap and have played TaylorMade drivers for years. A few years ago I switched to a Ping G10 and it quickly became the most consistant driver I have hit. As us golfers do, last year I switched again and tried a Titleist 909D2 10.5 loft, stiff flex and it became my favorite. I lost some distance but gained in accuracy. I started to study specs a bit more and I think the 1/2 deg open with the Titleist suited my slight over the top swing so that is why it helped. I have been taking more lessons in an attempt to come more from the inside hoping to gain some distance. My driving average is in the 260 yard range.

Anyway this spring I purchased a Ping i15 and all I can say is wow. This driver is a beast. Consistant carry of 270 range. Without a doubt the most solid driver I have ever hit. I can work this baby both ways and I have not done that for some time. It is one degree open but the fade bias does not affect me at all. I would say most decent ball strikers can hit this driver no problem. My friends have the new Titleist 910D2, TaylorMade R11 and they are 10 years younger, but I still out drive them with this baby by as much as 40 yards. They are threating me with pee testing, lol.
My only small issue would be is that the standard TFC700 shaft is a bit stiffer than others, resulting in a slightly lower but penetrating ball flight. Do not get me wrong but I feel that if my launch angle was just a bit higher I would be 10 yards or more longer. I am buying a 11 deg just to test and see if this is true. Go hit this driver it is one of the best Ping has produced. The ball just explodes off the face, love that.

Ping i15 9.5* w/ UST Axivcore Tour Stiff Shaft

Ping says the i15 driver is designed for better players who work the ball. Head is fade biased, but very easy to work ball flight draw or fade. I am 61 years of age and about 18 handicap, swing peed 92 - 97 mph and this driver is down the middle and really looooong for me. Averaging about 240 - 250 yard drives. Can really crank on it without worrying about duck hook. Longest drive to date was 310 yards. This i15 driver is much more forgiving than Ping and others advertise and the UST Axivcore Tour Red Stiff shaft is a real workhorse with this club. Ball launch is hot, medium high, giving long hang time and then great rollout. Best of all it is someshat difficult to miss a 30 yard wide fairway. This driver and shaft combination is a dream for me. It is 40 - 50 yards longer than my Ping G2 with Grafalloy Pro Launch Blue regular flex shaft. I would recommend the Ping i15 with the UST Axivcore shaft to any level of golfer, who does not generally hit the club near the toe. This club and shaft combination is the real deal! The only negative is that the clubhead finish is not extremely durable, so the bottom will show scratches easily if you strike the ground.Read full review...

i15 Driver

This is a great driver, in great shape. I was pleasantly surprised how good of shape it was in. It is a driver a little bit above my capability, though I am getting used to it. The i15's were designed with very little to no forgiveness and need to be hit well to get the ball where you want it to go.Read full review...

PING i15 Driver

The PING i15 coupled witht the UST Axivcore stiff shaft really produces a lower, penetrating ball flight. I have always hit the ball too high with too much spin. The fade-biased head didn't bother me at all even though I had just 8-degrees of loft. My best shots are straight and they remained straight with this driver. I contacted PING prior to buying it and they suggested that I use it as is then if it faded too much to send it in and have the head bent up to 2-degrees closed. This can be done only one time.

It is a very solid club. I love it.

Drive with confidence, a great buy for the money.

Wanted to try Ping again and chose the i15 Driver 11 degree loft as I have used ping many years ago. I didn't want to buy new and this fitted what I was looking for. I like the style and look of the club and I'm certainly not 'repeat not' disappointed by it's performance. Like my earlier ping experience it is an easy club to use and confidence grows quickly with it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in trying Ping and I would buy it again without hesitation.Read full review...

Ping i15 rating

Great driver. One of the best of 2010. Not quite as forgiving as some but has a great feel to it. My favorite part is the all black design. It looks very sleek. That is also somewhat of a downfall as it scratches fairly easy but only on the sole. Very satisfied with my purchaseRead full review...

Ping i15 Driver Golf Club

I really like this club. I hit it at one of the golf shops before deciding it was the club I wanted and now that I have it I am very pleased. I've used it once since my purchase and kept the ball in play throughout the round with good distance. The price ($160) was exceptional. I' a little worried that it might be one of those counterfeit clubs...still checking on that. Regardless...I'm pretty pleased with the overall quality and performance of the club.Read full review...
