A very good camera.

We've owned a Panasonic DMC-ZS19 for several years and love it, but after my wife decided it was "hers", I decided to get something for myself. The ZS8 offers the same photo quality as the 19 but with fewer features and a much lower price (used). Turns out the ZS8 is now my wife's, as she shoots only in auto mode, and the 19 is back in my hands. Now we're both happy to have really good cameras to use on vacations and around the house. They're both easy to understand and use, produce excellent quality photos, and are just the right size for us to handle and carry. Highly recommended.Read full review...

Panasonic Lumix camera is impressive with its features and performance.

My son-in-law did the research on a premium point-and-shoot camera and bought a DMC-TZ8 Lumix. We were just chatting on the phone when I mentioned I was looking to upgrade from my Canon 8mp, 3x zoom small pocket camera. He told me about the features of this Panasonic unit and of all the study he did before making the purchase. He is very happy with his choice. So I went on eBay and found several offerings both bidding and Buy-it-Now, new and used. I ended up doing a Buy-it-Now on a refurbished DMC-ZS10 Lumix for about half the cost of what my son-in-law had paid. (I didn't mention that to him.) I have had it for about 3 months and am particularly impressed by the clear and sharp very close-up pictures I was able to take of a broken part I had to evaluate. The 18 x zoom is also impressive. It will take a while to learn all it can do, but I'm delighted so far with the capabilities and performance of this camera.

Great lens with all the features of a more expensive camera.

The camera is in good condition for being used. It works well and I like the Leica lens.

Great pix, poor battery needing replacement

Pro: Great photos, easy to use, small, easy download, overall very good.
Con: Battery failed after 92 days on a 90 day warranty. Replaced at my cost, and failed again after a couple of months. I'm charging it using the Panasonic-provided wall charger, when I get the signal from the camera that the battery is low. It's kept in a case and the "on" switch was never accidentally turned on, and battery was never drained beyond the notice of low battery.

Online research shows this is a known problem. I don't know if it's the battery or the wall charger provided. I would recommend it, except that the battery failure is a real problem.

Little camera with big zoom, modified for IR photography by Kolari Vision.

I originally bought this camera from Kolari Vision because I was interested in "night vision" equipment and the ability to take pictures in complete darkness with an IR light source. However, I've since fallen in love with the stunning daylight effects of IR photography. The small size and light weight means this camera goes where I go, while a larger heavier camera might not. Having the camera on person definitely lends itself to more interesting photo opportunities. Depending upon the internal filter you choose (Kolari offers several), the camera is capable of Black & White and (or) color IR. Pictures are generally clean and crisp without grain or other artifacts unless you push it in that direction. Some features include multiple autofocus settings, preset white balance settings, manual white balance (a must for IR), complete auto exposure as well as aperture priority, shutter priority, and full manual control. Shutter speeds can go down as slow as 30 seconds for nighttime photography. The lens is made by Leica, and zooms out all the way to 16x for nice close-up shots with user settable motion stabilization. One thing lacking in this camera is an optical view-finder, although the back-lit LCD display is plenty bright in most situations. Battery life is pretty decent from the provided lithium-ion rechargeable, better than 100 pictures per charge n all conditions including flash. Memory is provided by removable SD media, and a 4 GB card is included.Read full review...

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE PANASONIC LUMIX WITH 16X ZOOM!

I previously owned a Panasonic Lumix with 10x zoom. This
new camera has 16x zoom, and to my amazement is smaller and
more compact. We travel extensively and these cameras have excellent picture quality and many other great features and
the best part, can be carried in my pocket. In our overseas
travels, I have compared pictures taken with this camera with cameras with the huge extra zoom lens that are bulky to
carry...and the Lumix photos are far superior.

A winning model with great results

Easy to use starting with "point and shoot" .You do not have to be a professional photographer to get professional looking results. I have not used the video feature.

I own and use 21 Point and Shoot cameras. The best are Panasonic and Canon. I do not prefer the over priced and hard to learn to use Nikon cameras.

Excellent focus and color traits.
The condition was listed as "used."
However, I appears to be "brand new."
