Excellent buy

Purchased this lens to complement the other lenses in my Nikon 1 system....while the Nikor 1 11-27 is excellent, it does not have VR...it is very compact and lightweight so vibration is not an issue most of the time. This 30-110 lens is larger and considerably heavier, it feels more like a "real" lens (an SLR lens) and is better for macro and close-up photography at at dawn or dusk when the light is less than ideal. I have taken about 200 photos to test it and the ones that I got right (focused and composed) certainly are sharp, clear and bright. Great all-purpose lens

Sharp lens. As with other Nikon 1 lenses, you don't get great bokah. Having said that, for general purpose vacation, street, and other assorted photography this lens fits the bill. One of the features I enjoy, is the ability to take close-up photos and still keep most everything in sharp without having to resort to focus stacking techniques. Read full review...

Great pictures, but this lens is a "delicate flower."

This is a good lens, but it is "touchy." They are apparently prone to jamming and that's what happened to mine. I was forced to buy another on and the lens alone costs as much as the entire camera refurbished. Thanks to eBay, I got it for considerably less.Read full review...
