REALLY Big Screen
Hope this helps someone. This TV does everything I wanted it to do, which is a lot. DPL TV is much less expensive than other HD types of TV. I already had a 50" HD Plasma TV in my TV room. I used it as a home theatre center for watching movies off a computer and sports off cable. It is a fairly large room and I found myself moving closer when trying to read things on the screen and during games. Bigger TV here we come, the mitsu 60". Do not mistake that there is a huge difference. I thought recommended screen / room size was bull to get you to buy a bigger TV. I found that they know what they are talking about. Both ways, it can be too large or too small. Lots of TV are now HD, where you CAN see the spin on a football or baseball and see the grip on the ball. You can see the puck in a hockey game. (Try that on HD and std def., same TV.) It is 1080P HD which is nice but overrated. The very large electronics store that sells these has 50+ HD TV sets set up. I asked them to demonstrate the difference between 720P and 1080P as I couldn't see it. I was told the signal coming in is 720P so they could not. Make your own conclusion from that. It has a 3D capacity. If there was actually something I could watch in 3D, I'd try it, but except for the demo disk, cartoons and Avatar there isn't. The only slightly negative thing I could say is that a DPL TV can't be turned off and then right back on. Small thing. It has a slightly wider profile and can't be hung on a wall. I have it on the same TV stand that the 50" Plasma was on so none of that matters. It is actually lighter in weight, but you need 2 persons to move either one, so again, who cares? It has 3 HDMI and all most STD interfaces. No VGA or DVI, but with a 60" HD, would you want to use them? I could have easily spent twice the $ on another type of HD TV. I do not see what I would have gained that I already don't have.Read full review...
