Logitech HD Pro 9000 Web Cam Windows 10

Nice little camera, BUT BEWARE, software not compatible with anything later that Windows 8, had to search the web just to find a Windows 10 compatible driver that would give me basic camera controls. great value cam with plenty of features

I have bought several Logitech QUICKCAM PRO 9000 WEB CAMs for both myself and friends. It may be the best performer for the price available. For the most part, I will not look at any other brands anymore due to lack of consistency. The set up process is simple here, and Logitech communicates in a human way, "go get a cup of coffee and take 5 while this loads". The quality of images is exceptional generally. Downsides: Still not ideal way to mount cam, it can and does slip.

Logitech Pro 9000 - Web Cam Does The Job

Eighteen months ago I installed the Quickcam Pro 9000 on my computer. It is more than adequate for using Skype and performing motion capture. It does the basics quite well. I would suggest this to anyone needing a decent webcam.

Here are some quirks I have noted:
- Low light performance is poor
- "Real light" or whatever they call the automatic setting for the camera is a waste of time. It causes all sorts of weird visual artifacts.
- The attachment feature is very difficult to get it to set properly on top of my LG flat screen monitor. Once properly set up it stays put but I NEVER want to move the camera or monitor again.
- Chrome bezel around lens makes this a less than covert webcam. It sticks out visually.

Apart for those issues I have no complaints. It takes super images for motion capture. It works well in the Skype environment.

I recently purchased a Logitech C910. This is an upgrade from the Pro 9000 in sensor, audio and low light performance. If you are going to have adequate light and do not need stereo transmission than I would consider this model if you can get it for less than the C910.Read full review...

Exactly what I was looking for

This is my 3rd camera of this type, and I keep ordering them because:

1. They are an older model that is cheaper while also being highly functional
2. I keep giving my other ones away as gifts (such as to my Mom, etc.)
3. They seem to be robustly built and last a long time. The first one I purchased was years ago.

It's hard to go wrong with this model. I'm sure the newer ones are better, but this one has always been good enough for me.Read full review...

Logitech Pro 9000 Web Cam

I bought this camera for my son so we could talk face to face across country. It arrived very quickly and he said it was easy to install. The picture quality is much better than the old one he has (different brand)and the built in microphone has good sound quality as well. The only downside is that his flat screen monitor broke and he is using a CRT and there is no way to attach it to something that big so he has to prop it up against something to point it in the right direction. I would buy this product again and recommend it to anyone looking for a decent priced camera that got really good reviews.Read full review...

Review of QuickCam 9000

I decided to buy the QuickCam 9000 after reading other positive reviews on it. I have always been happy with the quality of Logitech's products so I purchased expecting a fairly decent experience -- for a webcam.

I've used several usb webcams in the past and they were pretty sad excuses for video equipment, not any better than an old camera phone, so when I say I expected a decent experience "for a webcam" I must say that the bar was not incredibly high.

After receiving the item I plugged it in to my computer (Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit) and it worked immediately with cheese, and skype, microphone worked too!

Also used it on my Windows Vista machine which *seemed* to find the driver (didn't complain that it couldn't) but I installed the software from Logitech's site anyways.

To keep this short and simple
The mount/tripod thing worked well for both my laptop and my TV.

Microphone worked excellent, I have the camera mounted on top of my TV (Media PC) which is about 10 feet from my couch and the audio pickup is excellent. Plug and play with Linux.

USB Cable is fairly long so it's easy to move around to use as a more portable unit.

Picture quality is excellent!

Things that could be better:
Autofocus, rightlight, etc don't work under linux, it's all done by windows drivers (works decent in windows, I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker to not have it though)
No Privacy shield for paranoid customers

Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 Web Cam

I decided to buy a web cam because I was contacted by a cousin in Belgium that I have not seen for 25 years, we chat and found out she has a web cam. I could not believe that she was more advanced in technology in Belgium than me living in a country pioneer in technology for decades (U.S.A.). Both very excited to see each other and talk at the same time at not extra expense. Could not wait to go and buy a web cam. This web cam was rated by other users as the best. When it comes to buying something I always look for the best quality, reliability and performance in any item, price is second. This web Cam has the highest image resolution in the market among any other 1600x1200. My cousin was surprise to see me more clear than her own cam.Average price is $110. Cheaper cams cost $50, quality not the same, I found this one new for only $70 on E-Bay 4 weeks ago march 09. Very happy with quality of video and sound (built in microphone), my cousin has to put a headphone over her head preventing from moving. Instructions (cd) for installation are easy to follow, at end of installation will ask you to upgrade driver which I did, unfortunately the driver was corrupted and took me several days to figure it out, I had to delete the whole program and re-install it from the beginning, second time the upgraded driver was ok. Another problem I had in the beginning was when I tried to use it with windows live messenger version 9, would not allowed me to do a video set up, found Messenger 9 was not ready to handle my web cam, I informed Microsoft of the error problem; had to delete messenger v.9 and download messenger v.8 instead and solved the problem. Maybe Skype is a better messenger, I will try in the future. Manual zooming is excellent at short distance, however when I tried to show my cousin a picture in the wall across the room about 10 to 15 feet away, by zooming into it; it was blurry. It does not come with a stand, but the clipper, clips fine to the top of my LCD screen. each time I use it is for about one hour; in two occasions I got disconnected but was able to restore the connection within a few minutes; I can not attribute this events to the cam because other factors are always present such as network connectivity reliability by the internet provider(I have Verizon)and very happy with them; hijacking attempts by hackers, etc. This is my first cam, so I don't have experience to describe other features other than say you can adjust them manually or automatic. I am sure in a few months from now or a few years will be a better one out there; but for now, this is the best.

Awesome Video Quality

I love the quality that this camera puts out. It also has a built in microphone
which work great. The only concern I have had is how secure the camera is, because it only sits on the portable computer screen with no way to prevent it from falling off if you accidentally move your screen to far in any direction.

Good camera value

This was the top camera a decade ago. It's still the best camera for the money. While other cameras in Logitech are now better/clearer, none have the warmth of the HD picture that this one does. Also, the microphone is probably the best of any integrated microphones. That is one aspect that has actually gotten worse with the new Logitech cameras.Read full review...

Easy install, great image quality.

Worked quickly under Windows 10. Camera and microphone were auto-discovered and drivers were automatically loaded and ready to use. Tested with Skype and Zoom without any problems.
