Looks cheap and plastic at first but has all the dials a professional wants and they are easy reach while working from either the screen or the eyepiece. Focus is fast. Even though the JVC GY-HM100 went on the market eleven years in 2009 it is well worth the current cost to own one today. I am very pleased with the quality of the video it produces.
