My JVC Camcorder Experience!

I decided to buy this camera after researching which camera would be useful for doing YouTube videos. I spent $200 on a generic digital all-in-one camcorder but the quality wasn't very good. I heard that using the older model camcorder provided better quality videos minus the convenience of the various storage options such as SD cards.
I now understand why the JVC GR-D33 got so many reviews when it came out in 2004. The camcorder is very user friendly, right out of the box one can create their videos with ease. It has a light switch to brighten up the area during self recording and an easy access zoom button. The swivel 2.5 LCD screen is also a nice feature.
The only thing I DISLIKE is having to use DV cassettes instead of an SD card. However with all the new technology out, I believe that there is a solution to that problem via DV to USB Cables, but I haven't got to that part yet.

Item not as described and damaged.

This item was not in working order. It appeared to be fine until you atempt to use it. It would power up but upon putting a tape in the camera would not function. It gave an error message and said to re-incert tape and every time you did it nothing would happen. Just continued to get the error message. Item can appear to be in working order but will not work when you try to use it....
I will change my edit my review I did not understand why you listed it as used when it states used means in working order. It is my fault I get caught up in the fun bidding wars and buy all this stuff. I do usually give good reviewes... I am sorry... I just am mad at myself for not reading the fine print... I made another two bad purchases and I am sorry I took it out on you... I don't you to have bad ratings... People leave me good ones I just got my star it makes sence because I buy all this stuff... I am mad at my self because I bid on a plug for this camera.. some tapes.. then I bought a lot from the store.. and I was looking for the tape to put it in my VCR.. Only If You Need To

I brought the camcorder as it is the same model as one I already own. It was a good camcorder back in its day with the bells and whistles. It uses DV tape as the recording medium with no SD card capability. Unless you have lots of tapes you need to view or transfer it doesn't make sense to purchase these old camcorders. The purchase price was about half of what a new camcorder would cost at the low end of the price range. Camcorders now are smaller and use SD cards.
