Great printer; awesome quality photos

I used this printer every single day and have printed thousands of photos. The quality is excellent. It does use a lot of ink though. The XL ink is better than regular but I still replace it frequently. The printer is quiet while printing, but it aligns itself after every page and that is a bit noisy. I recommend this printer highly. However, if you are printing on cardstock or magnetic photo paper, it does not always work. It jams. The HP customer support was very helpful and courteous. They even called within a few days to follow up on a problem I was having.Read full review...

Excellent product well worth the money

Excellent photo printer. Clear crisp prints from size 4x6 all the way to 13x19. Easy to install easy to use. Rather large unit if your cramped for space. Does not like refilled cartridges-sends errors. Invest in the 564xl cartridges rather the simple 564. The XL holds more ink. Overall its a decent photo printer for the price.Read full review...

Great Printer

This printer from HP is easy to use, the ink lasts for a good while, and is cheep when compared to other printers. I have had no problems at all with the printer or anything (changing ink,etc.. And above all I'm liking the prints so far. (Have not tried the 19" x 13" as of yet.) For the most part colors match my laptop for Photoshop Elements 7Read full review...

Great Printer

I am a Fine Artist and use this printer for Giclees. I have had 3 Epson printers which are considered to be the best for giclees. This large format printer is so much better.

Front load paper that actually feeds itself...no more hand feeding.
Quality is as good as Epson.
Uses way less ink.
fast and quiet
Price for a large format printer can not be beat.
I love this printer!!!

Highly recommend this printer!

Great for large prints. Color and image even better than my old HP 8750. The B8550 recognizes the HP Advanced Photo paper and produces resolution and depth of color as good as any non-digital picture I have ever printed.
I bought it only because the 8750, after hundreds of large print jobs, needed some repairs to the paper feeding mechanism, not worth the cost.

HP B8550 Photo printer

The quality of the photos is excellent for the price. It allows the larger format without a lot of extra cost. It was very easy to setup and the person that uses it the most has found it very freindly for choosing paper size etc.Read full review...

Not Bad but...

The HP B8550 is a pretty good wide format printer but it goes through ink VERY QUICKLY. I have not tried the XL ink packs yet (at $18 per color and about $26 for black, it can be pricey) This printer is slower than my HPC5240. Maybe because it's a wide format printer? I will be using this to print 12 X 12 and larger prints only.Read full review...

Printer Good - Software Not So Much!

The vendor was as good as his word, shipped promptly - no complaints there. The printer works fine, but the included software (other than the printer drivers) would not install on my Windows XP SP3 machine. HP's online help did not fix the problem, either. It's no big problem to me, I use other editing software anyway, but if you're counting on HP's package, you might re-think your purchase.Read full review...

Big fat headache

I suppose the quality of the prints is great but because more than half of the time, the printer grinds up my paper and makes more noise than a locomotive and goes as fast (rather "slow") as a snail, I am wanting to toss it out of the window-so for me, I am thinking of looking at something else. Anybody have any new suggestions?Read full review...
