Great printer for doing a variety of color jobs.
This product is great buy for the money. It was designed with high processing in mind with 100's of thousands of prints. Supplies for it are pricy compared to ink jets or some other color lasers. The plus is the supplies last for 8000-9000 printed pages. That is almost 4 times better than other color printers that only last 2000-2500 pages. The quality of prints are also very good, with image quality equal or better than the high end ink jet printers. The printer is faster than any other color print in its price range, which makes its value even better.
Cleaning and maintenance is a snap, as most of the parts are easily accessible and designed to be replaced over time with normal usage. The printer was build for high usage and dependability.
Setting up networking on this printer is not difficult, and can be tweaked quickly and easily. There are a variety of print drivers. The printer is designed to be used in distributed environment that could include PC’s and Mac’s using different communication methods. To accomplish this the printer has AppleTalk built.
The system is larger, but the foot print is equal to any standard HP laser printer, which makes placement simple.

Great printer if you can lift it
This is an office group sized device. Very high speed, and therefore for a home user situation it's a bit of overkill. However replacing toner should hardly ever occur considering how much each cartridge holds.
Very heavy... Maybe 70-80 lbs. Not planning on moving it much thankfully. If you can get one with even half the toner still in each color of cartridge you may be getting a great deal (like I did). Consider how much it might cost to have some people heft it for you.
It's quiet, and dead quiet when in power saving mode, waiting for a print job. You can use the HP Universal print drivers so don't worry if you can't find the specific driver for your operating system.Read full review...
All around an excellent choice, but save your inkjet for glossy photos.....
If purchasing, find a seller that includes toner. Price difference is not much.
Pros: Very durable, fast, good cosmetics, prints text excellent & graphics very well. Consumables have a very long lifespan, and all the bugs have been worked out of the 4650 series that were present in the 4600, (ex; magenta toner overflow...) Overall decent paper handling for a straight path printer. Duplexing has been VERY reliable with no jams whatsoever. Used aquisition cost is very affordable, and if purchased from an honest seller, it can be a very worthwile purchase.
Jetdirect cards are available for 10/100/1000 network, and also wireless. Optional hard drive also available.
Cons: High toner cost if choosing genuine HP. Reman toners are especially faulty on this model as there are tons of parts that really need replaced that typically are not, as a cost cutting measure. Printer does not reproduce photos on glossy paper like an inkjet can. If printing 8x10 full page photos on plain 20LB paper, it can curl in the fuser and jam. Switching to a 28LB paper or higher will correct this problem.Read full review...
HP 4650 dn Laser Printer! Possibly HP's BEST WORKHORSE!
I can't think of one single thing that I don't LOVE about this printer. It's the second one I've had. The toner lasts and lasts! It's possible to find HP compatible toner cartridges that are economical, brilliant, and of excellent quality! This machine almost NEVER gets hung up. I've printed thousands and thousands and thousands of copies and have no complaints. I don't have any suggestions. HP has the best customer support there is! Even purchased on Ebay, for $10-20, HP can come in on the back side and do a detailed analysis to see what's going on with your machine. They are the ANSWER guys for HP printers and are flawless in their support so what COULD go wrong? In over 2-1/2 years and I've owned 20+ printers, this is the best printer I've ever owned! I have bought 7 of these used on ebay. Each one was a gem.
If you have multiple people needing to print, or if you have large projects needing mixed media, this is one of the best values for the money.
Do not buy remanufactured cartridges from inkgrabbers. They are inferior and will cause errors with this model.Read full review...
Refurbished HP 4650dn printer
I needed to fix our broken printer and the parts would have been expensive and I was not sure it would fix the problem. Buying this refurbished printer was the answer. It was easy to swop the network cards so no configuration was needed, just a few tweeks to the operation settings and I was back up and running. Graet price and a quality printer.Read full review...
Good i liked it.
Very good printer. Printing as promissed. Very good. I would recommend this product to other people even though Hewlett Packard has a very fishy reputation, this product its good.
4650DN Great Laser Color
Excellant laser color beautiful for a professional look. This printer takes 4 toners so can be expensive to change toner in. This printer is for high end printing.
