I had several Mini-DV cassettes to convert to DVD and this camera is the least expensive way to do so. plus, it provides an additional video camera when needed. I really enjoyed using this camera

Delight mechanism

My particular unit seemed to jam up just loading and rejecting the tape. It seems to be physically tight tolerance inside the cartridge mechanism.

JUST BY A SONY

I bought this as a working unit. The seller cancelled the auction when he found it no longer worked, but worked fine when put away about a year before. My research indicated Canon camcorders were prone to the lcd failing due to age. They cost over $200 to repair, which is the price of a new current model.
